SPECTOR® Club - Part 50

Part of my concern with gigging nice basses is I've had a bass knocked over by a soundman before so, it's like PTSD for bass. :)

I don't even take my bass out now until it's ready to tune and soundcheck, and then back in the case or gig bag it goes until we're ready to play. Same thing between sets. It also never leaves my sight. Some places want you to leave your bass in some area, but it stays on my shoulder or within reach. I am the Fox Mulder of gigging - TRUST NO ONE.

I WANT TO BELIEVE! I leave my bass out, on stage, BUT it's in my stand with a neck lock to prevent falling. It's set to the side of my rig & the back end of the stand is wedged under my cab, too. I also unplug the cable, so it can't be tripped on & pull it down.

Congrats! She is gorgeous! :D
Thanks e!
you just need to time the purchase and then BAM! drop the down payment and it becomes an "expense"
:hiding::ninja::D:hiding:
Great thinking! :)
beautiful bass Mike, enjoy
Thanks vinny! Did you ever get your other basses sold and the Legend 4?
oh dude. that would be sweet. let me know plenty ahead of time and i'll get there \m/

well. we are trying to sell our house in kansas and then going to buy one in oklahoma. dont have enough equity to do a swing loan so we have to ride this one out. after the one in kansas gets sold, whatever is left is going toward the one in oklahoma. so theres no room for me to play right now. also adding i just got an amp. which i really needed. but you never know, maybe next year i'll find someone on here who wants to get rid of a euro and i'll score a nice one ive been wanting. you're right. timing is the essence. so maybe next year, i'll get essenced :)
That's a lot of mouths to kept fed and be responsible for. :) Kids are a blessing!
I tell my wife "I'm thinking about buying a motorcycle....or a new bass, I can't decide." Then I get a bass and she's ok with it.
I love this line! :D But with my wife, she loves cycles also and she'd say a HD right? She used to have a HD as well. Which some day we both would like to have. :)
lol. yeah. i always seem to get stuff before her and i feel bad about it. and she cant seem to get the concept of a GOOD bass costing over $1000. plus we have 5 kids to take care of, so i feel a little guilty about that.
I feel guilty sometimes when I think of all the basses that I have gone thru and she's soooo easy going with everything, never gives me a hard time if I want something. But she knows that I only use my bass money which is a separate bank account to make my bass purchases. So all is good at the end of the day! :) My wife is truly a real gem! :bassist:
My wife has forbid the motorcycle option..........even though I had many bikes before her! My rule with her is one in one out......

Yeah we have 4 kids and I work two full time jobs so I get it too man........i beat myself up more so. I often feel bad...then i got in my walk in and spare room and see the piles of crafting supplies she has, and I feel better about buying that next bass............

My issue will be a 3-4 day trip away from home without her and the kids.....i'll get the.......why do you get to run away and have fun with out us and have a bunch of fun while we are stuck at home..... speech. LOL
I'm the one that doesn't like to spend much time away from my wife...she is truly my mate and buddy for life. :)
I remember that Ric weighed around 16 lbs. I still carry the pain in my shoulder from that bass, & I still carry the shame in my heart from those pants.....:hiding:
Hahahaha! :D
"Just for a moment
It did not matter
Where the sea ended
And the sky began"

This is a dream bass if there ever was one, this Caeruleus Somnium of mine.

It arrived quietly and unexpectedly this evening.

The Blue Dream
NS-2 #798
Cobalt Blue/Black Burst
AAAAA Tube Quilt
Doug Wimbish Neck
Dual EMG J Pickups
USA Spector 9v Circuit
Chrome Spector Hardware

Congratulations Patrick! A long awaited beautiful and sexy work of art! That is an awesome addition to your herd! :bassist:

I was going to ask this yesterday, but I don't think I ever hit send.
I've been looking at GC's Spector stock recently and I've noticed the overall body shape (not the contours & carving) of the NS seems to vary between the US/Euro models & the Legends. The horn carvings seem to provide more neck access on some models, and the area below the bridge seems to be offset on others and symetrical on some.

Is this just photo angles, or are there different CNC templates being used here?

That is freakin' hilarious. :D You need to add that to your signature Bunk, ASAP!

Unrelated but here is some more Spector porn from Bass Central

Looks cool, but it says it is refinished...might affect how collectable it is, Not sure about that though.

Great looking bass though....

Bass Central also has a back up for your 6 string Chris:
