Hey all,

I'm BRAND new to the whole Spector thing. I'm historically a Fender man. I'm working with a new rock/metal cover band, and decided I needed something with bigger balls. So... I decided to see what the Spector fuss was about.

I just purchased something that was referred to as "The Freak" Spector. It's a pre-LX Euro with solid maple wings and the MM114 preamp. Word on the street is it should be 90+% of a NS-2, and should growl nicely.

It arrives tomorrow. I'll have to take a loving picture and let you all know what I think of it.

"The Freak"...Make sure you lock it up at night, It is Dangerous!!!

Over the past week I've been sitting on my arse learning 7 songs of a band that I will be auditioning for tonight.

Since our drummer at Winter Of Freedom left, things have been stagnant and I am at a point where I feel I can't sit still and wait for things to happen externally, so I am making things happen.

By mere synchronicity, I've connected with someone who gave me an opportunity, so I took it.
This new project is a little different than the W.O.F material, but still it has some hard rockin grooves!
I'll be using the Forte again on this project as the band uses 7 string guitars so it's The Mighty BEAD tuning for this One also.

7pm (Vancouver BC time) I will be auditioning. Send me some good vibes! I'll likely be nervous :bassist: Sam said all I need to to is plug in the Spector play one note and I'm in! :hyper:

It looks like there are some interesting plans for this project in the future that I really hope will transpire, that will mean a LOT of shows!!!! :bassist:

I'll report later on tonight :bassist:

To War!!!...biotch...hehe :bassist::bassist::bassist:

Hey Thanks. Question: I've already seen that LOTS of people have previously owned this bass. If it's such a great bass, why does it keep getting passed on?

That happens a lot here, Nothing wrong with the bass, people buy and sell great gear and usually try and keep it in the family. basses here are usually bought and sold on the persons way to obtaining their dream instrument. Think of it as an extended rental. SAS is a sickness and were all loving every minuite :bassist:

just one of the things that makes this club very different. :hyper:

I'm really digging all the sound clips in this thread. All the Spectors & players behind them sound pretty sweet :bassist: You guys are inspiring.

I'd like to do some very basic recording myself for practice purposes, but I'd prefer to start it on the cheap.
I see STUDIO ONE is free .. I'm just wondering what I need to connect to it after picking up a decent speaker set for my laptop and downloading the interface?
Does anyone have experience with it, or can recommend something better to start with?? :help:

Also, unrelated ... I'm wondering if anybody has tried a set of the DR Black Beauties on their Forte???

Hey guys, quick question. Has anyone heard any updates on the US9V availability? I so want one for my Euro 435LX before we go in the studio this Spring. Maybe Patrick has heard something? I fear I know what the answer is, but.........

Ohhh man I can't wait! NS-X has made it to my state and should be here tomorrow!

You guys'll have to wait for clips possibly until the weekend, but I'll have some crappy pics up tomorrow night at least!

Looking forward to seeing it!:bassist:

Audiobox USB is good for around 150.00 or less used on ebay. Plug it in set the gain and monitor or headphone vol and done.

REALLY good audition last night!!!!!! :bassist: For the first time I actually felt as though I'm playing with top notch musicians that have their act together! It was great!

The Forte 4 absolutely thundered through the mix (everyone uses in-ear monitors but they also have everything amped for vibe reasons) I played through an Ampeg SVT CL tube head that they had there with a 410CL and another Trace Elliot 410. Sounded amazing!
They really loved the Spector!!

This is the band (feel free to post Spector Propaganda! :p )

They apparently still have to sort some odds and ends with their other bassist, so I will likely know in a couple of days if I got the gig or not.

Thanks again for everyones good vibes and support!!!! :bassist: :bassist:
