SPECTOR® Club - Part 55

Over the past week I've been sitting on my arse learning 7 songs of a band that I will be auditioning for tonight.

Since our drummer at Winter Of Freedom left, things have been stagnant and I am at a point where I feel I can't sit still and wait for things to happen externally, so I am making things happen.

By mere synchronicity, I've connected with someone who gave me an opportunity, so I took it.
This new project is a little different than the W.O.F material, but still it has some hard rockin grooves!
I'll be using the Forte again on this project as the band uses 7 string guitars so it's The Mighty BEAD tuning for this One also.

7pm (Vancouver BC time) I will be auditioning. Send me some good vibes! I'll likely be nervous :bassist: Sam said all I need to to is plug in the Spector play one note and I'm in! :hyper:

It looks like there are some interesting plans for this project in the future that I really hope will transpire, that will mean a LOT of shows!!!! :bassist:

I'll report later on tonight :bassist:

Positive vibes heading you way!

Yep, looks like a corn snake. Receiving a new Spector with a snake in the box = \,,/

Yeah, I'm going to take that as a good omen. We just entered the year of the Snake too. Just as the snake sheds its skin, this is a good time to slough off old habits and baggage. I'm paring my bass collection down to a minimum, and focusing instead on really learning to play the danged thing. I figure that if this bass can't do it for me, nothing can.

And yeah, we're filing a claim with effedX. I'm "counting on" them doing the right thing. 'Cause they wouldn't screw me over. Would they?

Good Luck!!

Also, I have a new 40J if anyone is interested, I had decided to use the 40DC at the bridge on the rebop. So if you need one let me know.

Ohhh man I can't wait! NS-X has made it to my state and should be here tomorrow!

You guys'll have to wait for clips possibly until the weekend, but I'll have some crappy pics up tomorrow night at least!

Great feeling, eh? Always makes me feel like a kid again, waiting for Santa Claus on Christmas eve, whenever I read those three magic words - "Out For Delivery".
:hyper:

Congrats! Looking forward to your full report.

OK, it came, but not as expected. My first Spector. Anyone have experience with the Q5? slightly simpler body vs Legend, but sounds good. Initial impressions are fast neck, narrow nut, good tighter B string due to 35", action a little higher than my 4 string. Active electronics should leave me happy like my active P bass.

I was looking at a Q5 a few weeks ago. Looks like a bolt-on version of the NS-2000/5, IMO. Personally, I love my NS-2000/5. About the only thing I'd trade it for would be a 4 string ReBop (just cuz I want one).

Just received my mail and there it is... Divinity Compromised. It'll enter the empty slot in my car disc changer tomorrow.... Right next to Defy Tolerance, which has been spinning constantly. Cant wait to hear it. Lots of talent in this club! :bassist:

Just PM'd Andrew - gotta get one of his discs to go along my Defy Tolerance CD. You are right a lot of talented players here.

2 years ago, I bought a Spector Euro LX-4. Now I can't imagine my life without one.

When I'm asked for advice on bass playing, I hold up my Spector and say "don't get a Warwick. Get one of these puppies". :D
