As I've stated before, I don't mind the way the tonepump sounds. I just cannot stand the whole tone knob thing. Either make it boost only or put a center detent on there. I can't for the life of me understand why you'd make it that way. It just totally doesn't work for me. I know that is me and it is fine for many on here and is a great sounding preamp. I'm just particular like that (I also hate 2 volume controls, tonally cool but a total pain the in ass for me on stage).

I bought a set of Aguilar PJ pickups and the OBP-2 preamp for my Euro 4LX. Since they haven't been installed, kicking around trying the OBP-2 in one of these 435's with the EMG pickups. Other preamps under consideration are the Sadowsky and US18V. My tech was blown away by the Audere he installed in a customer's bass (and he is a passive guy). I could try one of those with the Aguilar PJ's in my Euro as I'm pretty sure they are designed to only work with passive pickups. Decisions, decisions, decisions........ :help:

Regardless, I should have 2 pretty new Tonepumps available shortly. If you are interested, let me know and I'll put you down to contact before listing them.

My ReBop is in having its new 40Js installed, after I gave up trying to wire it myself. It's being changed to a balance pot & 2 center dented pots for the Treble/Bass controls. It's also going to an 18V circuit.
Wired: Pickups -> Balance -> Tone -> Vol -> Jack

the tone knob is my main complaint about the TP though I really do love this pre. I think I'd prefer the USA 9V over the TP for the simple fact that I find that the tone knob on the TP goes from mild to harsh very quickly if not set at the sweet spot. Im also a big van of the two volumes, I know its a PITA for live situations but you can always install a killswitch or use a cable that has a mute button at the end (I have a planetwaves like this) that I use considering my new power/pre rig doesn't have a dedicated mute switch.

I just bought a nice ns2000 I hqve to admit I like it more than my rebop. Best way to describe it is more low growl. And having gone back to the neck thru, I kindq like the feel better. Just not sure what im gonna do with the Bop. May tty and run it thru my mxr 10 channel and boost the lows.

Hey guys question. I saw an Ns2a I liked and matches my ns2000. But it seems the guy wants like 800 for it. I dont get it I didnt pay that when I bought my two years ago. Why the sudden rise in value

Mr.Bassie720 (some call him Ho, some call him Joe, some call him Jose)

may be the biggest class act on here. I spent many hours on the phone talking to Joe and he is amazing.

He even brought my wife flowers when he dropped in for me to install his 9V Circuit a few months back.

Add in that he flew to AZ to support Donny's band and that's just the icing on the cake.

Nice score! What the bass looks like slowly become immaterial as soon as the first E gets struck on an old NS 2. It's an addicting tone that puts me square in the right state of mind every time I fire it up.

You can often find a used Euro clise to that.

Over the last few months, I have seen quite a few listed on ebay for that. I don't know if they sold or not. Thats probably where he got his price. I've paid $600 and $500 for my standard NS2As. There is a nice black one in the classifieds right now for $600.

I'm a ns2a freak, but I don't think I'd pay $800 for one.

Then again, I'm a ns2a freak because you can buy them at $500 and they sound and feel like a $1200 bass.:bassist: I actually like NS2As better than Euros. (but that's weird)

Amen, Brother!

Just got home from my 3rd rehearsal with the amber Woodstock NS-2, and I am simply in awe of that bass... :eek:

It has offically become my # 1 weapon, and while I will never sell my NS-4, I am considering selling both of my Euros, my Stingray, my Geddy Lee and my Ric 4003 in order to fund a 2nd NS-2.

Perfection... Has been achieved. :bassist:
