Good to know. Not helping my SAS, however. Good thing I have that green Euro money burning a hole in my pocket.
So if anyone decides to part with one over the next little bit, I'm all ears...
Me too, love the MMbop, just wish they offered it in more then the matte blue finish, don't really want another blue bass but boy, do they look awesome. Still don't know if I'd miss the second pickup going to the single MM, but that double MM on bass central in Bahama blue... Damn!
Also, with all of the talk of the NS2A's being a killer bang for the buck, was there a 5 string equivalent? Or would that be the NS2005?
The NS-2000/5 is the 5-string version of the NS-2000, which is a revamped version of the NS-94/95 series. The NS-2A is before their time.
Dunno about a 5-er version, but I'd love one. ^_^

I've got this weird thing about trying to emulate some of my older basses with Spectors, like I will eventually have a blue NS-5XL and a red NS-6XL, and my first two pro-quality basses were a blue 5-string Carvin and a red 6-string Carvin. My next bass after that was a black and maple Stingray 5, so I would love to get the MMBop in black with the maple board.

I just checked the tour dates. It says New Orleans but it is something called Head>>Fake with Corey and Vernon, not Living Colour. I'd love to see LC again. I saw them on the first tour at Tipitina's (a famous club in NOLA) before they got the opening slot with the Rolling Stones. Cult of Personality was just breaking. I would have to say it was in my top 10 all time shows. It was just a young band, hitting on all cylinders and had that aura of you were seeing something special that was about to blow up.
In Spector related performances, going to see the new Queensryche (the original lineup plus Todd La Torre on vocals, not the Geoff Tate solo band he's calling QR) next Thursday at the Hard Rock in Biloxi. Looking forward to seeing Eddie Jackson live again. Hopefully he'll pull out a Spector for some tunes along with his Mike Lulls.

Bogus. I'm totally spoiled. You can't throw a rock in Boston and not hit some bar or club. I'm glad that they're coming through the Paradise, which is one of my favorite venues. I don't think I've paid more than $35 to see a show there, ever.
I'm still really torn between ordering the MMBOP5 in a gloss green or the rebop 5DLX in gloss green with MMbop maple board and black inlays. I really love the maple neck my Dingwall combustion has, but there's one problem with that bass - it's not a Spector. It hardly gets any playing time because I'm always jamming the Spector and I just LOVE the maple neck with black inlays.
I'm super jealous of your USA's though, I've never had a chance to play a USA Spector, but I'd love to get my hands on one as I know I'd love it as much if not more then my Euro 5. Easily my best bass purchase since I started playing, and the quality of Spectors (even the Koreans) has made me a convert for a very long time.
I still love the looks of some other basses, I just know that my Spector has the feel and tone that I love. I'm really wanting the 9V USA pre to become available again, I'd love to throw it in my euro.
Beautiful city, especially in autumn. I have a sister who lives up in Braintree, so next time I'm out that way, I'll hit you up for a list of good music clubs to visit.
I'm sure you've seen the US vs. Euro comparisons from those who have played both, so I'll echo that for me, the aesthetics are really the biggest different IMO. I mean don't get me wrong, the US circuits sound different for sure, but it's not night and day difference to my ears. Truth be told, when I'm playing around at home working on parts or practicing, I am generally using my Euro 6LX or the Webster. I love the 5XL I picked up on the classifieds here, but I almost feel like I only use it for serious recording. Now when my builds are done I expect that will change, but as I've said before, if the Euros were the top of the line for Spector, I think they'd still beat many US-made basses. Just awesome basses.
I know what you mean about the look. I'm still a sucker for the look of the Stingray 5, but I've been fully converted to Spector now. Every time I play the 5HH I'm trying to move, I'm thinking, "yeah this sounds good and feels nice, but I could do this with one of my Euros".

Glad you got that worked out... I know you are in a love/hate relationship with that amp. So I can cop the same tones with my 5lb head as you heard at my show in Jan. just saying

He has a new Rockbass Corvette with double J MEC pickups. This thing sings & plays so smoothly! It's making me want to sell my recently modded ReBop5DLX to get it.

Man if you like the MB5 I can only imagine what you'd think of the 800. With the FET front end and more harmonic content available....oh boy....not to mention the added headroom. Slam city.

They play Park West, I don't know what it's like. Any show of theirs is worth going to. PM me if you are going, nice to meet other spector players. Actually, one of my Chicago hosts also plays spector, so that would make 3 of us.
Have you seen the new Rockbass line? They're on par with the Euro Spectors, for sure!
AND, if a ReBop is a REAL Spector, then a new Rockbass is definitely a REAL Warwick.
