So, I am rehearsing with my Spector Legend (with awesome new EMGHz pickups), and I realize that times have changed... Now, I've got my music running through my laptop, and I'm playing through my little Line6 amp into a set of headphones. Yup, times have certainly changed...

Over the last few months, I have seen quite a few listed on ebay for that. I don't know if they sold or not. Thats probably where he got his price. I've paid $600 and $500 for my standard NS2As. There is a nice black one in the classifieds right now for $600.

I'm a ns2a freak, but I don't think I'd pay $800 for one.

Then again, I'm a ns2a freak because you can buy them at $500 and they sound and feel like a $1200 bass. I actually like NS2As better than Euros. (but that's weird)

I wish the market here was what it is there. Because there are no dealers nearby, and Spectors are rare, people charge out the whazoo for them.

Rebops go for around 7-900
NS-2000 go for around 6-700
Legends are around the 5-700 mark
The only NS-2A I've ever seen was for 800
The NS-5 was 4000
and the Euro 4 was 1200

It seems that people want back what they put in at ALL times.

Indirectly Spector related. I was quite ready to throw my SVT CL out of the nearest window. It kept blowing resistors. Not an expensive repair but a major hassle. A big shout out to my son's Genz Benz Neopak, a class D micro head that can actually power an 8X10. It has never failed in the 5 years he has owned it. Back to the SVT CL. My friend and luthier, Phil Jacoby, reccomended High Voltage amp repair in Baltimore, MD. I will skip the details and get to the part where my SVT CL sounds better than I have ever heard it sound, and is behaving itself. There are a lot of amps out there that will get the job done but Ampeg and Spector go really well together. High Voltage in Baltimore, MD is now my amp guy. I hope not to see them too often. I would love to ask Stuart Spector what amp he used when designing the circuit for the NS-2.

Im loving the tone of my ns 2000 alot more so than my rebop right now. Just seems to have more deep growl to it. Plus im kinda likin the neck thru painted feel. Thats why I waw considering the ns2a to replace my rebop. But I love tue speed and weight ofnthe bop so may he time for a new preamp.

Awesome! Yeah if it's anything like the Kramer, they play extremely easy. Almost too easy. Congrats!

practice lastnight was really different. EVERYBODY noticed a BIG difference! very easy to play and tone for days!!!

A couple of us club member should have a cool NBD next week I think.....this will be a new one for me.....something I'm not used to......not a Portugese water dog, but maybe a African rhino.....

It reminds me of one of one of the 1st times I ever saw a Spector bass played live...
One my bass heros, Johnny Lee Middleton of Savatage, was playing a solid red Kramer NS-2 when I saw them in concert for the 1st time, and decades later I still remember the punch, sparkle and bowel-loostening bottom end of that bass...

the pics look solid but theres a slight quilt there. when i do better pics ill try to pic that up better. im loving it! thanks.

Nice score! What the bass looks like slowly become immaterial as soon as the first E gets struck on an old NS 2. It's an addicting tone that puts me square in the right state of mind every time I fire it up.

it looks really good. that old ns2. how's the neck? super skinny?

i dont have alot of experience with different basses but i dont feel like the neck would be concidered chunky. i believe its skinny but i just call it magical...

i just got the mb 210 combo. you are correct sir... Spectors and GK go together like peas and carrots!!! it was suppose to be my little at home practice amp but i could see it pulling bigger duties in the future.

Just got home from my 3rd rehearsal with the amber Woodstock NS-2, and I am simply in awe of that bass...

It has offically become my # 1 weapon, and while I will never sell my NS-4, I am considering selling both of my Euros, my Stingray, my Geddy Lee and my Ric 4003 in order to fund a 2nd NS-2.

Perfection... Has been achieved.

Great news Ho! I loved it finding my amp guy! Good amp and instrument techs are hard to come by these days but when you find a good one.........its normally a great one!

I'm super happy with my gear, and my Spector just sounds KILLER through my rig, I've got everything tweaked right, and I FINALLY got around to picking up my basses and rack from the jam spot so I'm definitely excited for lots of bass playing tonight. Are you just running the CL through the 810e?

I looked into the Neopak's a while back actually when I was looking for an amp that could do two ohms. I settled on a Mesa M-Pulse 360 because it came up locally for a great price (also included was my Mesa 610 cab), but those Genz amps are real nice.. I've been considering picking up a micro for a while so I dont have to take my 6U rack back and forth, and it's really come down to the Shuttle 3.0 and the GKMB200.

I also love the 2XDC combo in my Euro 5 though I've been tempted to swap them out for a pair of 40P/J config as everyone says thats the combo to go with, and I just feel like the soundclips through my tiny speakers just don't do them justice. I really need to pick up another Spector and have one of each... Cant go wrong there.

Good to know. Not helping my SAS, however. Good thing I have that green Euro money burning a hole in my pocket.
