Man you guys have been quite busy in here today!

Spent the better part of today testing out new patches with my Axe FX and various soft synths and decided to re-record a lot of the tracks from a tune I wrote over a decade ago. I've come a log way from a Kurzweil, a 2120 Legend and a digital 8-track! There's a lot going on so I know it's going to be hell to mix and I still haven't added vocals. Not sure if this would fit the band or not - it could become something for my "side" project.

Somewhere buried in there you might be able to hear some Webster with some B3K on it. Not sure I'm going to stick with this bass on it or maybe use the 5XL.

Let me know what you guys think - be warned it's almost 7 minutes!

So, thanks to LimaGuy and his tips on how to wire it, the Aguilar OBP-2 is going into the Euro 4LX with the EMG pickups. I decided against further routing or shaving the pickup housings on the Aguilar PJ set. Should be ready this week!

I ordered a US18V from the Spector shop and have an EMG BTS system that came out of a project bass already. I guess those two will be going into my two Euro 435LX's. I just need to decide which one will go in which bass? Whichever pre I would prefer live, I'd like to put the in black stain over the natural, but I'm not sure which that will be.

Was EJ in town for a show or something? I tell you what, I'm really not a "starstruck" type of guy but that guys tone left such a huge impression on me at 16 (formative bass years) I would definitely "geek out" on him. I can just hear myself now, "So Mr. Jackson, is it true you actually cut one of your woofers to get that gnarly tone on Mindcrime?" "Did you use a razor blade or knife?" "Was it a hunting knife?" You're really nice...I like your hair...did you ever catch the little bastard that stole your NS 2. Is Geoff Tate really a huge dick? I really like Buck knives, do you? GEEK CITY for me boys!

Haha. You've pretty much just described my entire inner monologue. :D For the record, I just snorted coffee through my nose (ouch) when I read this line. "you're really nice....I like your hair."

HAHAH no but he did show his Black NS2 Kramer era that he used in mindcrime all the finish is pealing off of it.. and No they Played a show in NC and were driving through and stopped in to check out the basses. he had his bass tech and another guy with him . He said they were heading to Connecticut for a show and had the next couple of days off. all in all pretty dam cool

Damn you should have asked him for me if he needed another black Kramer NS-2 with the paint still on! :D

What basses did he check out, was he looking for older stuff?

Bunk i didnt even think of it and the tech was the one looking at basses more than he was.. he was commenting on the basses he has like a 72 telebass and a new Spector with two Jazz pick ups .. I believe he said it is a white one with the gold hardware.. no picture of that one HAHA..

guys it maybe an ignorant question but this is my first Spector. I bought it new a couple of days ago.

Is this a normal Spector bridge ? the metal part under the strings are angular in mine ..where as all the other Spector bridges I have seen being horizantal and parallel to the bridge itself.. is this just a bad set up ? it came like that out of the case

please I need advice and information

Thats a standard Spector bridge. It is unusual to see the saddles set so high.

Does the bass play good?

If it plays like you like, I'd say, go for it.

this is how they come from the factory... some people do it, some don't.. nothing "wrong or bad" about it. :)

I like to angle mine back some but that seems a little far back. I think the idea is to give the strings as much contact with the saddles as possible. With that I might bring the back end of the saddles up more until they are in contact with the string. I don't think you want any extreme break angles either.
