So I'm sending the Neo 412 back to Musician's Enemy since they didn't follow through on a promise to get back to me in 2 days about the damage on it. I'm basically through with them now after the way they handled this and my order in November with the wrong item shipped. It's not worth the 15% discount they occasionally have.

Duke or anyone else that has had one, what is the weight on the PH412? The Mesa site doesn't list it. I'm hoping it's not much more than 100lbs. Thankfully it looks like it has a lot of handles and wheels on it to make it move more easily. It's also spec'd 1200W at 4 ohms like the Neo 412 so I'm hoping that means it's also a good match for the MB800.

Man, I wish you were local so you could come check my cab out before buying sight unseen, but I'll just have to do my best to talk about it.

It's not that heavy honesty, I think it's about 134lbs and it's lighter and easier to move then my older Ampeg 810e, as the tone is just killer. I've never gotten this cab to fart out, though I know it hasn't been pushed to it's limits I have no doubts that it could handle just about anything at realistic volumes. It has two back handles. Side handles, and spring loaded handles on the bottom, makes it super easy to lift up/down stairs.

I get compliments on my tone at pretty much every show I've played with this cab since I bought it and I love standing in front of it and just feeling the bass on stage. I think it'll be a great match for the MB800, I was actually considering getting a 200 and using it at home with my 610 and leaving my rack at the jam space.

Are you considering any other cabs? I don't want to sway you in any direction because I love this Mesa cab, but Aguilar and Berg also have some killer 4X12's on the market.

This 412 and my Euro 5LX are two pieces of gear that'll never leave my side.

I love my Mesa cabinets! I like the 4x12 slightly more than the 2x15, but put them together and it is insanely awesome sounding!

Haven't considered anything else yet and I'm still on the fence about getting a Neo 412 from a vendor who won't ship me a damaged one. I tend to like to match amp and cabinet brands. One thing I am concerned about is the space on to of the Neo. I have to look at it again before I ship it back but it seemed like maybe the SKB would over hang too much. Doesn't look like that would be an issue with the PH412. I also need to check the dimensions for the PH412 vs the Neo. I t has to be something I can fit in the back seat of my car. It looks lthe PH412 is about 5 inches taller and 3 inches deeper than the Neo 412 but also a couple inches narrower. Gotta measure my car to be sure.

I have to admit I really hate trying out amps. I love checking out new basses, but with amps I just want something that works and sounds relatively transparent. I get paranoid matching cabs and amp from different manufacturers because I never trust they're "meant" to work together. That's why I've stuck with the Eden stuff so long.

Trans black, I think he's going to do a black burst around the outside. I was heavily knicked up on the edge between the jack and the strap lock.

At first I wanted to do a enhanced grain with the burst, but I dont think that there is enough figuring for that and with the rock maple down the center. He's pretty swamped so he going to try to get it back to me by the end of May. I am going to ride up so that Phil can set it up for me and Pleck the neck.

This sounded great! How do you get your bass to sound like your bass using Apogee and Garageband. Is there a way to not use any of the goofy guitar effects in GB?

Thanks! I didn't use the built in amp simulators - I used Apogee Jam direct in using the 'microphone' setting. So, not much tweaking or EQing you can do in GB - what you hear is pure Spector and Tonepump with the EMG MM Hz.

Ha ha! Speaking of Starbucks, I saw Justin Timberlake's new CD on sale there. If you catch his SNL recent performance of 'Suit and Tie' - that bass player is a monster!

I think that wood grain is still unique. Doesn't have to be flashy necessarily, but there's always something about natural wood finishes that scream 'class'.

Got this in late last night; finally had the chance to put through it's paces today. Previous owner swapped out for DCs and it has the Korean Haz copy.

All I can say is....O...M...G... now I know what the fuss is about. I have the feeling this one will be getting some significant playing time before my EX-Wide ships...probably around July / August...
