direct in using Apogee Jam

bass line Tonepump bass 90% treble 40%
bass melody Tonepump bass 50% and treble 60% and some reverb

two different drum loops and GarageBand electric piano played on the Ipad.

Any feedback appreciated. I'm really digging the Rebop 4MM.

I love it! The BopMM sounds wicked! The Spector pimp was right. That instrument was a great fit for you.

I love it. Keep that on hold for next year's NAMM Promo DVD. Would be perfect to show off the tone of that bass.

You have seen the Circle K strings at my house. On my Fours I am using the 112 E balanced set. They are good. I got into them because of playing Mike's basses (Fat240). From there I fell in love, and they last forever too! I think Mike got alot of us into those Circle K's............the owner should send him a free set for referring business!

I def think Ill be moving up in guage ASAP,with this new A# tuning move my bands taking on.
I LOVE the Circle K strings Ive tried on sum friends basses,they seem a bit pricy for my budget though.. Plus working for a big music store chain has me wishin to buy direct thru my employers vendors...
I think I know what to do,Im gonna call DR from work and talk to em about their custom sets for LOW tunings...Maybe DDadario too.
Maybe when iI find out the right guage low B for A#,at least for me,Ill know how to guage the rest..
Big John DeLuca also uses a super low tuning,Ill have to go back to Circle K for another look I suppose.

For what its worth, I was using D'Addario Prosteels before these Circle K's, and although the shipping took some time to canada, I'll be ordering more sets for my current Euro 5. After the CK's didnt fit on my Dingwall, I called my tech and just told him to throw a good set of heavy Gauge Pro Steels on and call it a day, but after thinking about it, I don't want to drop another $100 on strings and a setup, etc and sell the bass for another Spector in a week anyway..

Gonna see if he knows anyone that might be interested in the combustion 5 and if they'd like to help me order a Custom Rebop/Euro 5 considering the only other dealer close by has flaked on me several times.

I know I said it before, but I'm super excited to get this build going! I KNOW I'm gonna be set with my two Spectors strung up with Circle K's.

This sounded great! How do you get your bass to sound like your bass using Apogee and Garageband. Is there a way to not use any of the goofy guitar effects in GB?

Both would be similar but one is curved/contoured and neck-thru, the other is flat bodied and bolt-on

I love the Korean neck-thru basses, between my NS-20004, NS-20005 and NS-2A!

Is your NS-20005 stock still? I'm looking at changing out the pups in mine. But my Coda 5XL Deluxe still has me TOTALLY captivated so my Coda gets almost all the playing time. The NS-20005, as beautiful as it is...is still on the fence whether it stays or goes. I'm quite curious about the MIK Coda 5 Pro. I might pull the trigger on one before long. It's tough for me to buy anything else other than USA built Spectors because of the "Fit/Finish" is out of this world. I've tasted and now I'm spoiled. So I may wait and purchase a used NS-5. Or buy another Coda 5 used...I love the Coda line!!!

You are going to get a few suggestions here........we have had this conversation before but more strings will fit the Spector than you think. D'addarios are the first that pop in my head.........all other members please chime in!

Actually everybody post what strings they use? That way Seth will have a choice.

DR lowrider hex cores same guage will feel better and tighter.........might I suggest you try a D'addario balanced tension set?

I'm loyal to no string, however I usually gravitate back to D'addario's. I'm a bit promiscuous when it comes to strings! LOL

I'm a little late in but I'm loyal to GHS Precision SS Flats on everything 35" or 34". They tune down great on my 35" Spectors.

Seth won't play flats..lol....he's in an original Metal Band....if you have facebook check them out. They are called Gritter..........they are Pantera + heavy.....proceed with caution!

I just know Seth, he won't use them.......why don't you play flats? I use them on fretless......but I suck at fretless anyway...so I don't use them anymore either! I know why I dont............LOL You think you're funny huh?

Yeah and the whole idea of flats is them being kinda dead........flat players like all the greats wanted their strings oily and dead as it contributed to the tone right? That old motown sound?

Again another reason to play Circle K as they are a nickle steel blend right and you get the best of both worlds?

I'll say it again, if you can swing the cash for Mesa's 4x12 I think you're gonna be REALLY happy with this thing.

So I'm sending the Neo 412 back to Musician's Enemy since they didn't follow through on a promise to get back to me in 2 days about the damage on it. I'm basically through with them now after the way they handled this and my order in November with the wrong item shipped. It's not worth the 15% discount they occasionally have.

Duke or anyone else that has had one, what is the weight on the PH412? The Mesa site doesn't list it. I'm hoping it's not much more than 100lbs. Thankfully it looks like it has a lot of handles and wheels on it to make it move more easily. It's also spec'd 1200W at 4 ohms like the Neo 412 so I'm hoping that means it's also a good match for the MB800.
