Oh yeah, I have Andy's CD on rotation in my car's six disc, which right now consists of Between the Buried and Me, Defy Tolerance, Divinity Comprimised, Clutch, Tomahawk, and Soilwork. It's a nice rotation of heavy and our Spector brothers hold their own quite well!

That's an awesome lineup! I didn't think anyone else listened to tomahawk, nice.

bunkaroo, late to the party on this, but I loved your recording. You have some great production skills buddy! I had moments of Faith No More in that song, and that's a mighty good thing!

Wow. I thought the exact same thing when I heard it on Facebook. Faith No More is my all time favorite band, so I would agree with brother Jim, it's a VERY good thing!

Andrew's album rocks. If you don't already have it, I highly recommend picking it up - great stuff.

Wow guys really sincere thanks for the compliments. I take any Faith No More compliments with great thanks - Angel Dust is just a huge influence on me.

I didn't even write on the DC record since it was written when I joined so hopefully this means the next record won't be diminished by my contributions.

Oh and ynot how are you liking that new Soilwork?

Well the Spector-bird is here. Gave it a quick play through, it is very nice. Wife is about to go out for a couple hours, so I will get to crank it up and see what we have! In the meantime some quick pictures:

I'm still rockin' my stock Spector NS2000/Q4. I've had a BQC System sitting around for ages, but I've never gotten around to buying new pickups. I had an idea as to what pickups I wanted, but now I'm not sure. I'm thinking 35DC in the bridge and either a P4 or CS in the neck.

Funny enough, I originally had new pickups that sat around for too long, then sold them to make some money.

Both would be similar but one is curved/contoured and neck-thru, the other is flat bodied and bolt-on

I love the Korean neck-thru basses, between my NS-20004, NS-20005 and NS-2A!

Thanks it is definitely a killer axe. The sound is obviously quite a bit different than the p/p or p/hum combo on my Wave and Mockingbird (not to mention they are passive DiMarzio's)basses.

The neck is similar on all 3 basses, with the Spector having a slightly narrower, but deeper feel to it (definitely a classic C feel to it). Construction wise, the BCR's and Spector are neck though, high quality instruments with high quality components. The Wave and Mockingbird are painted, whereas the Forte is is a beautiful matte finish stain over flamed maple. The pau ferro definitely has a tighter grain than the rosewood of the BCR's, kind of reminds me of ebony in a way.

The bigeest difference, again boils down to the pickups. The EMG 35DC's give a nice growl, but in a modern way, as opposed to the DiMarzios which give that classic growl/thump and the P/hum (DiMarzio/Bill Lawrence) wich has a nice balance of sound(P thump, humbucker growl and highs), and gets a very cool tone for hard rock/metal, but can be very clean and bright.

I will have to do a new Family photo showing the collection as it stands today.

Bolt-on is automatically a Q-series. The NS2000 was neck-thru. The other ways to tell are flat body, & the plastic nut.

Thank you, you handsome bastard. It's my very first Spector. I got it in earlier 2010 and I think it's time it gets an upgrade.

Look into the EBS multicomp and the Markbass Compressore......I find both to sound better to me than the MXR. I have had 5 envelope filters......neat but rarely use them. A chorus is cool. Look at EBS, HBE, whatever you want there. As far as grit goes, look at the b3k or the HBE hematoma.......tuner? whatever your heart desires. As far as wah goes.....i liked the morley dual bass wah most out of all the ones I owned....again though.......more of a toy for me.

I think if you don't really need em......don't buy them

Thanks Tommy,for taking that pic,It was kinda cool that Eddie stopped by Sam Ash,looked around for a minute,(while I was working and hanging with Tommy).
I almost forgot to ask Eddie for a picture before he left!
And ya,his phone pics of his trusty NS2 where its all chewed to hell were the coolest!!!
Jamie had just let go of his I.H.,so I had at least one SWEET Spector to grab at that moment...(wish I had the $ tag flipped around the other way) LOL..

So my guitarist and I agreed to drop a half step down to A sharp,now my High Beam 125-45 feel a bit floppy,should I try the hex core Low Riders in the same guages?
I remember not digging the tighter feel of them in standard,but maybe in this tinning they would feel "just right"?
Im pretty much locked into DR brand strings,nothing else we sell nor other local shops have long enuff strings for my 35in Spector Euro5LX...
Well theyre Dunlops(but only nickel)I can try again,but die so fast for me..
I wish shops had more 35-36in length string sets!

You are going to get a few suggestions here........we have had this conversation before but more strings will fit the Spector than you think. D'addarios are the first that pop in my head.........all other members please chime in!

Actually everybody post what strings they use? That way Seth will have a choice.

DR lowrider hex cores same guage will feel better and tighter.........might I suggest you try a D'addario balanced tension set?

I'm loyal to no string, however I usually gravitate back to D'addario's. I'm a bit promiscuous when it comes to strings! LOL
