So I just got my fretless back from the shop...put some new, lighter gauge strings on it and I attempted to do a setup to compensate for the change in tension and it just didn't sing like it did from the factory. Jeff at Corner Music here is Nashville is a GENIUS!! He had my baby for under a day and man does this bass SING!!!!!

...he also told me that he could do the Jaco epoxy just like how Jaco did his back in the day. Apparently there are only few people in the country that actually do it the way he did and use the same epoxy technique etc on the original bass of doom.

to Jaco or not to Jaco...that is the question! I think the "Spector of Doom" has a nice ring to it!

Big venue show Sunday....Spector obviously....but do I go with the Mesa M6 and pair of Aguilar DB 112's or break out the roadcase rigs of Berg NV215 & Carvin B1500 plus rack crap....driving 2 hours for 7-8 songs in my Scion xB......lol. Decisions.....decisions.....there will be PA support

No brainer. Mighty M6 and the DB's. With FOH support you'll have the stage covered easily.

Very interesting playing a four string again after 19 years.

I think I'd want to play a bass he treated first. You have an amazing bass. I'm sure you know this, but be careful about changing it.

us older more venerable dudes don't need the mega stack behind us.....lol. If i can rock a small stack and still slay with it, i'm good.......

However......feeling the wind blow past my pants from the nv215.....and killing my sperm count at the same time....thats magic too! haha

The idea of asking to play a bass he's treated is a great idea! That thought had not even crossed my mind so thank you!

This is a decision that will have to be made at a later date as it will cost a pretty penny for the treatment. The guys at Corner have a have a great reputation with the pro's here in Nashville. Apparently I just missed Dave Fowler who was hanging out there today...he left about 5 minutes before I got there!

Anybody here know who makes Spector strings? I wonder what came on my Czech NS-2JA-R? Are they different than what come on US Spectors?

how do you like the bqc in your euro, right now i'm torn between that one and a 4 band from audere

I like the BQC, but it is a little bit tricky to get the midrange dialed in. I'm thinking about pulling it and replacing with a US 18v or a Aguilar OBP-3. I love the OBP-3 in my NS-4H2.

Break out the heavy artillery, though they do have a nice PA. The monitors aren't so great, so you will need to feel and hear your sound the way you like.

Im sure they hate sending pics of unfinished basses, but honestly i think its cool to see them being built and it makes me gas even more! lol

I think in this case I just got lucky PJ was there to take a pic. I hadn't actually requested one. I'm sure they're normally too busy to do that kind of thing.
