Congrats!!! Those are cool! kinda rare and the necks are a little thicker on them usually too. they feel very hand sanded / shaped, not many people at the euro shop then. would love to have my 5er back from that era.

Yeah, I got the prewired version. But I didn't install it myself, I had the guy I go to for all my bass work do it.

Im sure they hate sending pics of unfinished basses, but honestly i think its cool to see them being built and it makes me gas even more! lol

Well I just got my Legend 4X!! this thing is sweet. Practice tonight so its great timing. Just played it through my little keyboard amp and it sounds good. Need to put my strings on it and jam out with 1600 watts behind it
initial observations: The neck is awesome, I love the naked wood. It plays nice on the lap (surprisingly). It has slight neck dive, but it sits horizontal and doesn't dive any further.

Awesome job! I remember the first time I heard that one was when I saw them live. Geddy's solo over the end was insane!
So I just got my fretless back from the shop...put some new, lighter gauge strings on it and I attempted to do a setup to compensate for the change in tension and it just didn't sing like it did from the factory. Jeff at Corner Music here is Nashville is a GENIUS!! He had my baby for under a day and man does this bass SING!!!!!
...he also told me that he could do the Jaco epoxy just like how Jaco did his back in the day. Apparently there are only few people in the country that actually do it the way he did and use the same epoxy technique etc on the original bass of doom.
to Jaco or not to Jaco...that is the question! I think the "Spector of Doom" has a nice ring to it!

That's great Brad! I too find that as hard as I try, it's always best to take my bass to an expert. Enjoy and have a Mwaaah-velous time. LOL
