Well, kudos to your singer doing that stuff in standard 440. You guys are even making him sing AIC higher than the record, LOL!!!

Our metal tribute band tuned to D simply for making the vocals possible on some tunes. When playing 3 hours of Priest, Dio, etc., it made a huge difference. Our original project ended up in C bc it just sounded right there. I had to adjust on bass accordingly. In fact, everyone did. In C, both guitarists are using bolt-ons with maple necks as they seem to cut through better. It can be tricky to not step on each other sonically and something you have to pay clise attention to.

Strung up the Wimbish with a DR lowrider 115 set this morning. What a transformation. Went from jingly jangly to what I imagine is the Spector growl I've heard so much about. The low end thump is hitting hard too, sounds great. Bonus points to the strings for also pulling the action into perfect position. It was a little buzzy with the stock strings, so I don't need to make trussrod adjustments now.

The 115 E baaaaarely fit into the bridge, I had to press pretty hard on the string to get it in there so if I go to 120's I don't think it'll be with lowriders unless they make something tapered.

Thanks, he is a very good singer (and guitarist, and keyboards). I sing about a quarter of the songs and also many of them we trade parts on because we blend well/sound alike, it's just that he has a much greater range, but I sing all I can to take as much burden off of him as I can. I mean this guy can sing Your Love/Outfield with no problem. :ninja:

Maybe we should try Barracuda! ;)

I have never played one but they were made at the same Korean factory that made NS-2As in the 80s and still make Legends now.

2 things to remember;

This is the first model Spector that JPS owned.

You have 30 days to return it to your local GC if you dont like it.

So its a quality introduction to Spector.

If it is stock it will have EMG HZ Pickups
and a EMG BTS Preamp.

There seems to be 2 Q4s on the used GC site both at the same price.
