Congrats on the new bass! I have the exact same one, same color and everything. It's a fantastic bass :)

I don't have any info on the pickups, but someone else will!

I would to publicly thank Brother Lee for working with me on selling me his Kramer era NS-2, this thing is massive, love the look, the feel and most importantly THAT SOUND! The US 9v just does it all right. Lee is a testament to what this club is about and we are lucky to have him as a member and Brother.

No matter how messed up things get I always know that a solid hour to myself locked in my office with my headphones plugged into and my basses there for the playing; it'll all be OK.

That's what started me on this journey. Finding comfort during chemotherapy by playing the bass and letting my mind escape the pain and discomfort and negative thoughts.

So good for you.

the bottom end is huge on this thing but the highs seem to be a little lacking, not shure if it's the passive hz pickups,the spector strings or the way the bridge is setup with the saddles all slanted the wrong way(tward the neck) but thats all getting changed any way.
since I gota have active pickups i'm thinking of putting a emg 40p or px in the neck position and I switchable split coil at the bridge but i'm not shure wich one tw,dc,cs??
can anyone explain the differences in these pickups??
I think with this setup I can have the p/j pickups that I prefer but with the added option of the switchable humbucker at the bridge.

Delicious!!! That's the most awesome woodgrain on a nat ReBop that I've seen! Congratulations! Sounds like you & this ReBop 5 DLX have bonded. I had one of these and a 4DLX...remember that it has an adjustable gain TonePump pre so try adjusting it...it'll make a huge difference in the tone. Plus adjusting the pickups closer or away from the strings. The ReBop 4DLX I had also had EMG-35P/J's and I loved the tone that the pups brought! If it'd been a 5r I'd kept it. Sorry I can't help you on the bridge pickup options you asked about.

AMEN brother Jeff! Well said! :D My Spector and music most definitely has been and still is my stress reliever for several years now. I also notice that the more and more that I play, the less room there is for stress to creep in. :bassist: :)

If I hadn't just bought a Spector I'd have given you a run on that puppy. That's a sweet bass! Play it and enjoy.

Playing with a pick which is a first for me in many years. I have a ton of mids dialed in, boosted on both the amp and my M80. The boost section is cranked up as well and I use the distortion channel of the M80, gain at noon but blend it in mostly clean. Thats recorded with my Rex, EMGDCs, TonePump at 18V.

Those Rex's really do sound great! I don't think my band members are crazy about the body style but I played an over priced 4 string at a pawn shop a few weeks ago and think I'd love the neck in a 5 string version.

Waiting for one to pop up now.

Hi! Congrats on your new bass! I have a rebop too, awesome bass!:hyper:
If I'm not mistaken, the emg dc's are ceramic loaded, while the cs are cermacic steel loaded. The cs will have a much warmer sound, compared to the brightness of the dc's. The tw is a switchable version of the cs. So you'll have the possibility to pass it to single coil mode..

I have two emg dc's on mine and am very happy with the tone. But you can't go wrong with any of these IMO.

so as i was at a customers house, the price is right was on and for a contestant to get on stage was "guess the retail of this item" was a 4 string spectorcore \m/. who can guess what the retail price was on tpir?

No doubt, I have been able to get some good deals from club members and I would feel bad actually trying to make any money if I had to sell any of my basses. Fortunately I don't have to sell any:bassist:
