Figured out the confusion on this.

Kasim Sulton, is currently on tour with Blue Oyster Cult who played with Chicago in Muskegon, Michigan the other night.

Glad to see Kasim using his Spector again.

Stuart actually brought his name up when we passed by the old Utopia Studio that was in a complex where we ate lunch during my visit to Woodstock.

Kasim is from Staten Island, he replaced Rudy Sarzo who was playing in Blue Oyster Cult and is now in the Tate version of Queensryche playing Spector.

Does anyone notice anything wrong with the wiring of my pre at all? I was just at band practice and am getting lots of cutting out and popping through my amp when the cord is moved towards the jack. I'm pretty sure it's the jack but it doesn't seem very accessable.. I have a show tomorrow and would like to get it sorted out beforehand, I don't think I'll be able to see a tech until monday.

Thanks for any help guys!

He is planning on coming in and bringing in some cool stuff, asked me what he should bring from his collection but I told him that he has so much cool stuff that I'm lost but would love to see the 20th and 30th basses with the cool necks...and I will not even touch them! lol What is your first name?

Maybe try the GHS or Labella Black tape Flats. I used the GHS Black tape wounds flats on a cd that one of my bands made last year and they sounded great. :bassist: If mellow is what you're seeking then these are your strings. :smug:

Listen to tracks 1,2,4-7. He plays on all the songs but track 3.
Saw a documentary on the making of this the other day. Interesting how it all came together. Rundgren though, was not exactly a big fan of Steinman. :ninja:

Can one someone here help me out?

My church owns an older Spector Legend 4. It's had issues with its electronics for the past couple of years and hasn't been used much. We've gotten it fixed a couple of times but it never stays fixed for long. I think either the pickups or electronics are just bad and I want to replace them.

It has volume, volume, bass, treble, so it looks like the EMG BTS system is what we need for the electronics.

That said, if the problem is with the pickups themselves, I want to get them replaced.

Looks like it had EMG HZ pickups. This is not a picture of the bass but our looks like this one (I think the body style on ours is slightly different, ours is at least 10 years old at this point):

Any idea how I can find out if its the pickups or preamp that's bad? And if it's the pickups, do you guys know which EMG model they were using back in the 90s Legends? We'd prefer a direct replacement if possible.

Jim... Yeah, your bass is getting lots of use. Besides using it in the band, it's always around for me to knock out 15-20 minutes of excersizes a night for the hands and fingers. And I use it each weekend for a few hours of "woodshedding" with an instructional DVD. Even after 40 years of playing I decided I should keep honing the old skills. Your four string works great for that too as most of those instructors use a four string.

Here's a (crappy cellphone) pic of the bass, computer and headphones all connected to a Digitech BP200.

What exactly is the problem it is having? Send me a PM. It could be a bad input jack, I can walk you through a few troubleshooting steps.
