Hey guys! I am not a robot, this is not spam, I'm the Norwegian with an (un)healthy love of Spectors :P Anyway!

I started a bass-oriented website that interviews bassists and stuff (more content to come) and the first two interviewees were both Spector players! So it's on topic, I swear!

I'm also looking for more people to interview/make videos n stuff!

I'm gonna add more to the site as I go! Enjoy!

Hey guys, I have a quick question regarding my new pedals I just got a few days ago! I just got my new to me V4BH back from my tech with a hefty repair bill, but it was well worth it!

I have the Sansamp hooked up from the output to the power amp input on my ampeg, and it sounds great. I want to keep using both the Sansamp and the V4BH how they are now (not switching between them), but add my Aguilar TLC compressor, Diamond Memory Lane JR, and Korg Pitchblack (might end up ditching my rack tuner that stays with my Mesa 400 and run this board with the amp eventually too).

This is my first time using pedals, and I'm really not sure what they should be hooked up into (the sansamp or the Ampeg, or what the best way to do it would be). I'm going to be doing some experimenting with the amp today as its my first day back with it, but would really appreciate any suggestions anyone has.

Back to the Spector talk:

WOW, that black NS5XL is gorgeous. I think I'd prefer the 2X humbucker option over the H/J configuration but for the price I think it's a steal of a deal.

They do look interesting and if they have great tone then why not try them I guess.....on the new Black Cherry NS2 Todd gave me a new set of Ernie Ball Cobalts to try out (I have always used the Hybrids so I was interested in checking these out) and the Ultraviolet NS2 has DR lo-riders that are new to me as well, so I'm in the check-out mode! lol

I would think the pedals would also go before the preamp. So Spector -> Pedals -> Sansamp -> Ampeg. Back when I was using a VT Bass as a preamp of sorts, I had my B3K, MultiComp and Tri-Chorus before it in the signal chain. But yeah, experiment and see what sounds best.

ya this.... I would go all pedals in front of the sansamp and see how it sounds...

I have a Sansamp BDDI and it has the FX loop so I guess that dirt and such pedals could be run before the Sansamp and Chrous, Delay, etc. could go after the Sansamp or into a effects loop in whatever head you are using. I run everything into the pre, but I also run my Wah last in the chain:eek: so it's pretty much like Bunk and Donny said, whatever sounds good to you. I tried the wah at the end when I saw a William Murderface rig rundown and I like it better there.

Not on my former Forte 5 but ONLY when I first got my Coda 5XL DLX. Mostly due to it only having 22 frets vs. 24, frets 1-4 have a lot of space between frets. No problems now. Just stick with it a bit more Eric, it'll come to you. :):bassist:

Just thought I'd try once more. I have a brand new US18V preamp I bought from the Spector store that has never been installed. It includes everything from knobs and pots to quick connects. All you need is a set of EMG's.

These are great pre's, I think they are the best for Rebops more so in the 5's. Low B sounds great with this pre.
