SPECTOR® Club - Part 64

Just picked up my OBP-2 and found that the dealer ordered me the stacked bass/treble version instead of the separate controls. I really wanted the separate controls but I waited two weeks, not too sure what to do. Will the stacked pot be easier to install over the separate ones? I'm more concerned about finding matching gold stacked knobs honestly, I could do with having a dummy knob on there, it would just take some getting used to.

If you can stand the wait I'd get what you really wanted. If not, best bass parts or bass parts resource should be able to fix you up on knobs, but you'll have to wait on those too:(

I feel your pain!

If you have four hole tell'em to get you the separate ones.

I also say get them to order the right one. The extra wait will suck since you were ready to use it, but it won't be as bad as constantly being reminded you settled for something you didn't want.

Cab came in today (DB212). So here's my new mid sized bass rig, complete with Markbass tilt-back folding wedge.

Now it's time to see what I can make it do. :bassist:

That looks awesome. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on the new rig.

I'll be looking forward to hearing your thoughts. The GB's are great amps, but I'm already missing my TH... Time will tell if I go back, or maybe add a BK7

Hope you enjoy it as much as I think you're going to!

SaWeet! :bassist: Please let us know how you like it...especially in a gig.
I'd love to have an Aggie 212! Or a couple...:D

Thanks guys. I'm kinda waiting now. :spit:

I don't want to take it to rehearsal and waste the band's time while I muck about with this thing, trying out different sounds. It's too important for us to concentrate on learning and honing the music.

On the other hand, I have a wife with a lot of migraine problems so I can't just fire it up and go. It needs to be when she's out of the house. :rollno:

BUT... This will happen and I'll share my thoughts asap.

Just get a pair of 50k pots instead of a stack. Should be about $5.

Anyone using Spector strings? I am curious about them. Now im using High Beams

I've used them in the past. They're not bad but if you like the high Beams I'd stick with them. Not sure how expensive they are in your part of the world, if not to much you can always try them and go back to High Beams.

Curious to hear what you think too. I came very close to buying the TH500 but ended up with a TB500. I found a local deal on the Orange and I love it. Still would like to check out the Aguilar.

I haven't tried Orange cabs but I think they look so awesome! They're a bit on the pricey side...I looked on Sweetwater's B site last night and a demo Orange 212 still going for $700+...*choke* :p

Hey guys... I just changed the string on one of my Kramer NS-2C's and Ive got a bad G tuner, its slipping... can you recommend a replacement? They arent Schaller's, I dont think, but they are same style.

Yep, Thundar. Gotoh GB7s. I sourced the set for swampy through Warmoth, where they are $13.50 a piece. Honestly, you may want to just replace all of them at once. If one's starting to go, chances are that the others may not be that far behind it (or just order a full set and replace as needed!). Just my two cents. It's a fairly painless upgrade.

Also, if the posts happen to be too big (which I don't think they are in this case), let me know. I have a good reamer that you can borrow to widen the holes.

They do look cool, the 115 I have is sweet but I ended up replacing the speaker with a Kappalite I had on hand, really opened it up and gave me a lot more volume. They are very solid cabs, I typically have a glass of homebrew on top of mine during rehearsal and you can barely see the fluid move in the glass. But you are right they are pricey.

If you ever want to buy Orange stuff check out Humbuckermusic.com they have very good pricing on Orange and are great to deal with. They are to Orange what RMC Audio is to GK.

OK sorry for the derail.... Back to Spector.
