I guess I'm in... my first bass was a Spector Import 4 string bought in 2001. Still have but it's strung as a piccolo bass. It has great fretwork and the electronics are very solid. Not sure of the model but it came with a pretty decent gig bag.I bought a NS2j in 03 or 04 and it was killer but not quite for me.
Now I have a Coda 4 and it is easily the best Jazz Bass I've ever played. The fretwork is the best I've ever played, it is capable of rediculous action and sounds great plugged or unplugged. Probably the first jazz bass I've ever had where you can hear the growl unplugged.
It's just feels right too. almost like the fretboard is a magnet for my hand.

Welcome aboard! Did you recently aquire the Coda from Seattle? If so I've ogled it on the internets lotsa times, and even now am waiting on the arrival of the Rex Pro that was listed above it (and is more in my budget!).

Nooooooo.... LOL That's actually an Anthrax hat that I modified with super sharp screws sticking out the front. The non-metal girls who hung out with us would always try to take my hats, so I made it more difficult for them to grab the bill.
The band was V.T.H. and then at one point, for a short time they broke up and he started Hedshrinx.
Those were some crazy fun times. When Jason was selected to join Metallica, thrash just exploded in the Phoenix valley. Every kid who had dreams of being a rock star started playing thrash or at least some type of metal, so there were tons of bands... a hotbed of metal. We were really fortunate to grow up in that scene.
Im in need of an AE Bass, 4 or 5 string (prefer 5), 34". Anyone have one for sale or know of a used one for sale? Your help is much appreciated.

You are right on the mark about your Coda 4. I own a Coda 5XL Deluxe and I've said time after time that by far it's the best jazz bass I've played.

Thanks! Thought I had to give up on Jazz basses until I played the Coda. And you guys are one of the most friendly groups on TB. Lots of love for pretty much all models. Very cool.
Oh and your Coda isn't too hard on the eyes either... I did indeed. Picked up a different bass from them. Sent it back when I saw the Coda. Great guys to deal with.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a P/J, seems to be something spector is fond of.

Just picked up my OBP-2 and found that the dealer ordered me the stacked bass/treble version instead of the separate controls. I really wanted the separate controls but I waited two weeks, not too sure what to do. Will the stacked pot be easier to install over the separate ones? I'm more concerned about finding matching gold stacked knobs honestly, I could do with having a dummy knob on there, it would just take some getting used to.

Yeah, I guess that's what I'll have to do. I was so stoked to get this installed this weekend for practice monday, I guess just a little disappointed. It was about a two week wait through these guys, maybe I'll order online this time.
