As long as the value is the same it should not make a difference. I know the new Haz has 100 k volume pots, where the older circuits have 25k pots. One of my 80's Haz had a bad vol pot and replaced it with a standard Emg 25k pot and you can't tell the difference. Not sure what difference it would have made if I would have use the 100k pot that PJ sent, but I wanted to keep the values the same.

Oh yeah, now that's a mullett. I never did go there. I just perfected the "Big" hair.

1986 (16 years old), a Yamaha BB300 through a Peavey TNT 150. What a rig! Levi's (uncuffed) and button down...now that's some stage attire! Loudoun County High School Talent Show covering Def Leppards "Stage Fright" and Judas Priest's "Living After Midnight". Those were the days!

Me in 1990 with the NS2A I still own today.

But I grew my hair out and wore a lot of bling like big Chinese dragons... I was influenced by Jimmy Page.

And I hung with a tough crowd... my homies were down right ghetto-vicious hood rats. You know what I'm sayin'?

So I guess that's almost as bad as spandex and some parachute pants.

I could only dig up one photo from this era. My parents have plenty I'm sure, but they are in CO.

1985. 1982 Fender Jazz with EMGs. That was a good bass. Got stolen.

Yeah, I've had a few stolen myself. Only got one back and it was the crappiest of them all.

It's not the 80's, 1976, the only band I was playing in at the time. (I'm left of center, sorry for the blurriness) The 80's I was on my 2nd hitch in the USAF.

So hears my contribution to the dodgy 80's pics appearing in this thread.

I grew up in Wyckoff, in Bergen County. Moved to NM straight out of HS for college here in '74 and never left.

I don't think they have any.

I "bought" 3 circuits from stores that looked very similar to that and I never got them. I wasn't charged for them, but I'm assuming its an old out of date website.

On an unrelated topic, looks like I'm in the market for a tuner pedal after having used rack tuners forever. Still love my Korg DTR-2000, but for these road gigs where there's a backline, I'm not bringing anything but my basses and a pedalboard.

Based on what I've read here, I've got it narrowed down to either the Korg Pitchblack or thew Turbo Tuner. Anyone have experience with either of these?

On an unrelated topic, looks like I'm in the market for a tuner pedal after having used rack tuners forever. Still love my Korg DTR-2000, but for these road gigs where there's a backline, I'm not bringing anything but my basses and a pedalboard.

Based on what I've read here, I've got it narrowed down to either the Korg Pitchblack or thew Turbo Tuner. Anyone have experience with either of these?

I have used the Korg for years and works great and easy to see on dark stages. I just saw one listed here for 50 bucks I believe.

These 80's pictures are so much fun. I didn't start playing bass until I was 21 (1991) so I don't have any pics with my bass. I did, however, spend countless hours in band practice sessions at storage facilities and my own house - we had a nice band room. My friends were all in bands and my roommate was in a thrash band that used to open up for Flotsam and Jetsam and Sacred Reich back in the day. He was actually called in to once fill in and sing at a Sacred Reich show when their singer got real sick before the show. They ended up pulling in Kerry King from Slayer, Jason Newsted from Metallica at this time, and Greg Hall Sacred Reich's drummer to do a full set with my friend singing.... it was incredibly cool. Kerrang magazine had a picture that was turned into a poster in our living room.

Anyway, here's me around that time...

Thanks for the info guys. Is the Korg in a metal casing? I like the way the Turbo Tuner looks in terms of durability, and the custom tuning setting may help for my 6-string and alternate tunings. I feel like both of these are dirt cheap for a true bypass tuner considering how much I spent on my Korg rack tuners.

I love my Korg Pitchblack. Like others have mentioned, super easy to see on stage and has different options for how your want your tunings to "look". It locks in instantaneously and doesn't hunt around. It's also built well and super reliable.

no love for the Boss TU-3?? That's what I use and have had great success with it.
