Oh yeah im def out playing live and kinda want some of that old winger queensryche vibe. Mynrebop and ns2k4s sound great I just 2ant the old school tone.

Like I said, I'm just a for fun and the occasional church fill in. It's all yours pal. Good luck. I'm Gonna try and order one. If not, I'll try switching the tone pump to 18v, either way I'm in it for enjoyment not a profession.

Yep, Thundar. Gotoh GB7s. I sourced the set for swampy through Warmoth, where they are $13.50 a piece. Honestly, you may want to just replace all of them at once. If one's starting to go, chances are that the others may not be that far behind it (or just order a full set and replace as needed!). Just my two cents. It's a fairly painless upgrade.

Also, if the posts happen to be too big (which I don't think they are in this case), let me know. I have a good reamer that you can borrow to widen the holes.

Thanks! Yeah Im just gonna get a whole new set.

In the spirit of all these old band pics, I have a few I can post:

I picked up bass in 1988; here's my first band pic from 1989:

This one is from 1993; my first actual gig:

I bought my first Spector in 1997 (SSD NS4CRFM).

They do look cool, the 115 I have is sweet but I ended up replacing the speaker with a Kappalite I had on hand, really opened it up and gave me a lot more volume. They are very solid cabs, I typically have a glass of homebrew on top of mine during rehearsal and you can barely see the fluid move in the glass. But you are right they are pricey.

If you ever want to buy Orange stuff check out Humbuckermusic.com they have very good pricing on Orange and are great to deal with. They are to Orange what RMC Audio is to GK.

OK sorry for the derail.... Back to Spector.

Cool...thank you for the buying tip on Orange cabs:cool:
Awesome Coda picture!:bassist:

I haven't tried Orange cabs but I think they look so awesome! They're a bit on the pricey side...I looked on Sweetwater's B site last night and a demo Orange 212 still going for $700+...*choke* :p

I've always been interested in that OBC810 since I set my eyes on it. I'm so happy with my Boogie cab but I'd probably pick up one of these Oranges just to try it if one came up locally. Also been eying a nice Trace 810.

Do you still play the Aria? Aria Pro II made some great basses in the early 80's, I have a 32" scale bass of theirs that is one of the few basses that can compete with my Spectors when it comes to my playing time! (along with an 8-string octave bass, if Spector made an 8-string octave I would play that instead!)

Of course with 5 Spectors it is badly outnumbered :p

Actually, I traded in the Aria Pro II when I bought my NS4CRFM. It was the SB-II Elite (Rudy Sarzo sig). I loved the feel of that bass; I had EMG DC 35s installed in it, but the Spector's sound blew it away.
I had an ADA MB-1 preamp, and when I got the Spector, it overloaded it on every preset! I had to cut the input levels way down to prevent it from clipping.

Any club members interested in a Euro 4 lx im letting mine go, tonepump has been removed an emg BTC installed along with the EXB expander circuit, its a very versatile sounding bass can go from that classic Spector sound to a mean slappin funk machine with the turn of a knob. Only notable blem is under the control cover was following a previous hole for wiring that apparently zagged and i drilled straight, like I said only noticable with the cover off. Pm me for club pricing dont want to derail the club thread, only trade deal im interested in is for a Marcus Miller Jazz bass, or an American Deluxe 5. Ill be listing later in the classifieds.

I want to try a set of Dimarzios with the tonepump in my Euro 4LX. Can anyone here tell me where I can buy the 500k version of the volume pots in my Spector?

Thanks,
Duff2

The pot mounting hole diameter on a Euro LX is around 8.5mm so its tight.

Many pots are 9mm

I would go with this from Stewmac.

Required mounting hole diameter is 7.94mm

The Pot itself is small so it wont bump into anything inside your control cavity.

And the shaft diameter is 6mm split shaft so the Euro knob will fit on it.
