There are some songs too where Carlos Alomar uses what I can swear is a Spector 6 string guitar like when they play "China Girl." In the wiki for that tour, they say that he uses Kramer American guitars but it looks like a Spector to me on that track.

Whoa, Nick Beggs just posted on his Facebook page a picture of his new 8 string Spector. Very cool!

I think you will like it. I do prefer the RB series over the MB series, but I loved my MB500

anyone see Nick Beggs got an 8 string spector?

o and check out my new strap in action (crappy pic). I have to say this strap is the nicest I've owned in 2 decades. It is very comfortable and looks killer... I'm going to have to put in an order for a 2nd one, I already have an idea :) Coop is a great guy and I plan on abusing and using this strap for a long time

In 1986 Stuart built an 8-string NS-2 with dual J pups for Billy Sherwood (at the time he was with Yes).

He still has the templates... I saw them when I was in Woodstock and I took a photo of them...

I've played that bass at Billy's house/home studio at it's amazing.

I do not expect that this model will go "into production".

But because the templates still exist it may be something that you can order, talk to PJ Rubal about it.

A couple of times I had a Spector Bolt-on along with a Spector neck-thru...They both have their own distinctive voices. The bolt-ons tend to be more aggressive, growly and bark. Where the neck-thru's tend to be smoother, aggressive and growly. You can get that Spector grind out of most of the basses...depends a lot on what preamp you run, how you're dialing your pre and equalizer as well. Currently I'm playing/own my Coda 5XL Deluxe exclusively. Traded off my NS-2000/5 neck-thru to Donny for a Carvin B1500 amp...wasn't playing the NS-2000/5...the Coda is all I need right now.:smug:

Thanks Donny...that'd been last week when I was wearing a white shirt. (Just can't get those photographers to coordinate on the right week;)!)
