Why must you tease me, dream bass.

Wow Brad. I love that fretless! :bassist:

Thanks Todd! That means a lot coming from someone who has seen/owned some of the most beautiful basses I've ever seen! :D I'll make sure to bring it when I make the trip to Tulsa!

 ^^^^THAT.^^^^ That there is a thing of beauty. :bassist:

Thanks E!

Great looking bass Brad! One of the things about the bolt ons I love is getting the solid top without the rock maple thru the middle.

Thanks Mike! That's one of the main reasons I'm getting my exotic wood fix with the BO's! I can't wait to see the end results of the single MM bass with an exotic top! There is going to be a lot of room for the grain to show thru! :bassist:

Well Tom, it's all about what the market will bear. The Shorty is only $700 (list) more than the Euro, and I suspect that the Shorty is not as desirable as the Euro due to it's scale.

You say "played once" but it's still used, just mint condition (I assume). And I'm figuring you are referring to a used Euro. There is much more demand for them.

Maybe one of the other guys (Sam, Patrick, Todd, etc.) could elaborate and let me know if I'm off base but that's how I see it.

Hope you can swing it! If your honey has enough patience with all the kiddos, hopefully she has enough patience left over for you.

A good woman is hard to find, but I hear an ex-wife is much more expensive than even the best basses in the world( pretty sure everyone know the brand of which I speak):bassist:

I can testify to THAT! :scowl: It's done though! :bassist:

For whatever reason, Spectors don't often get what I think they're worth on the used market unless there's something special about them.

I mean, $1200 shipped for a Euro 5LX in virtually brand new condition, with a case? That's $2400 new these days if you include the case. I have the Webster at $1600, and those go for $2800 without a case. It's crazy. That's why it really pays to buy used. Only buy new if you know you're going to keep it. I lost a lot of cash selling my 5LX and the 435LX I had.

Bingo! Supply & demand.

It kind of sucks when selling, but on the bright side, you can pick up a great used Spector for a hell of a deal.
I scored my used USA NS-2 for less than 1/2 of what I paid for my USA NS-4, and that ain't bad...:bassist:

truth! Doing the math over my past year of buying/selling it seems I have lost money...so I'm of the mindset now that if I buy it new/custom, it's staying for life! :D

I'm also limiting myself to what I REALLY need/want instead of being impulsive with my buys! :D

Nope! It got here safe and sound! Included was a fitted HSC, I'm very happy with the bass I bought considering it was off ebay with 2 photos, but the seller was a really good guy and messaged back quickly to everything I sent him. I'd do the ebay thing again, but would definitely ask for more pics next time just to be safe. Gonna be playing this on stage on the 20th I think, first practice with it will be Wednesday.

I'm thinking I'll probably get a trim TP or an OBP-3 depending on how I like it in the Euro 5 and swap out the hardware for gold at some point. How difficult would throwing my Euro's gold HW on the Rex be and installing a USA bridge be on the Euro? I'm not really 100% sure what I wanna do yet but I know I'd love to get gold on the Rex.

The spots in the picture are just iphone camera specs, the bass is in really good shape. Very happy I decided to try the Rex out, I think it'll get some pretty good playing time compared to my Euro!

Congratulations Duke! Beautiful! :bassist:

Hey,

So interesting development in my SAS department. I was looking around and found a used NS-4H2 at my local Sam Ash. I havent gotten to go play it yet, but I will try to before I leave for my weekend tour on Thursday.

Anyway this one has the EMG 35CS-TW in the neck and an EMG MM pickup in the bridge.

Has anyone here played one with that combination? I'm just curious what you gain or loose with having the MM pickup at the bridge in place of the standard EMG 35CW-TW.

Oh and to make my SAS even worse, it's serial number is 407. Why is 407 SAS inducing you may ask?

Well lets have a look at the back of my old Brooklyn:

It must be a sign!

YES! It's a sign...you must buy! :D That's pretty amazing about 407!

so my birthday is in a few weeks and as a present to myself I'm planning to place an order for a new Spector US BO!!! :hyper:

...I also think I'm going to be getting me a new tattoo around that time! :bassist: Here is the preliminary design that I printed, cut, taped, recopied and resized, it's been slow at work today, and now all I need to do is throw it into photoshop to make sure it's all squared up and everything is placed exactly where it needs to be! ...this will be going on the inside of the upper forearm just below the elbow on my left arm.

That's awesome about ordering a US BO and cool tat Brad!
