Compare that to my 34' Euro4-TW and you can see that the bridge is farther from the bottom of the body than a 35" Euro435

Measure from the bottom of the nut to the 12th fret.
If its 17" its a 34" scale
If its 17.5" its a 35" scale.

And from looking at the bridge placement I am pretty sure its a 34"

So far I LOVE this bass. If I have any gripe at all, it's that the bridge isn't very setup friendly. Took some work to get bridge saddles and intonation dialed in, more than with any other bridge I've tried previously.

All that aside, with fresh set of HiBeams on her, she sings, and I think I'm in love.

Crow eating time....sort of. :p
After studying some photos, it appears Spector is manipulating the bridge position for their 435 basses. But they are also extending the fingerboard to accommodate the wider fret spacing to still have 24 frets.

Carvin (while not making an extended 4 string, afaik) moves the bridge while fitting just 22 frets on the same fingerboard area of their extended scale 5 & 6's.

I incorrectly assumed Spector was extending the necks on the 435's just like on their 5 & 6's due to still having 24 frets. Oops. :hmm:

So......I was half wrong.
I'll stop eating at the second wing. :D

The bass is just switching from a active 9v or 18v to a passive pick-up possibly not powered or could be more like the NS2A type of thing (not sure actually how the Coda runs). The passive DI is just for sending a line signal from the instrument to the board without the DI being powered...however it would be worth investigating this on the bass switching it between the two functions to see if it improves your problem as well!

Had a great rehearsal last night. Still getting over a cold so I basically played and sang until my voice gave out. That's because even though I only sing about a third of the songs, we learned a new song and it's one I sing. Foo Fighters - Learn To Fly, which just rocks with the Euro4LX - TW.

I did play the Euro5LX on a few other songs and started feeling a little nostalgic as there's maybe one more rehearsal before my NS-5XL comes in and then it's time to find the Euro5 a new home. Kinda' sad since it's my first Spector but I need the money to pay off my NS-2 which will be ready in about a month.

Feeler... I'll put it up for sale as soon as the new fiver comes in but thought I'd let you guys know first. It's going into the classifieds at $1300. I've upgraded the pups to DC's and replaced the tone pump with an OBP-3. It sounds really good with a beautiful poplar burl front and after market gold knobs. Here's a glamour shot from before the upgrade.
