SPECTOR® Club - Part 68

Jeff, this is very boutique-looking Euro. If not the rounded bridge I'd think it's a USA Spector. Very nice.

Had a great rehearsal last night. Still getting over a cold so I basically played and sang until my voice gave out. That's because even though I only sing about a third of the songs, we learned a new song and it's one I sing. Foo Fighters - Learn To Fly, which just rocks with the Euro4LX - TW.

I did play the Euro5LX on a few other songs and started feeling a little nostalgic as there's maybe one more rehearsal before my NS-5XL comes in and then it's time to find the Euro5 a new home. Kinda' sad since it's my first Spector but I need the money to pay off my NS-2 which will be ready in about a month.

Feeler... I'll put it up for sale as soon as the new fiver comes in but thought I'd let you guys know first. It's going into the classifieds at $1300. I've upgraded the pups to DC's and replaced the tone pump with an OBP-3. It sounds really good with a beautiful poplar burl front and after market gold knobs. Here's a glamour shot from before the upgrade.

As always, PM me for the "club" price.

I need some advice.I have a rebop 4 mm and it sounds ok the way it is.It has the tone pump preamp in it and an emg hz mm pickup. However i am finding that it is a little to middy for my liking.Any suggestions on how i can get some of the mids out ? I purchased an emg bqc control so i could have a little adjustment over the mid control,do you guys think this will help ? I was also thinking of getting rid of the mm hz pickup and putting in an mm cs.Any advice or experiences are welcomed as i am not overly experienced in the pickup and preamp field.

EMG MMCS active is definitely a good move. More high end and brighter sound altogether.

The BQC will help, but that pickup and that bass are already a pretty mid-focused instrument.

If you install the BQC you should be able to use the mid sweep to select the frequency you want and cut it.

^This^... I have found that the HZ and SSD pickups are fairly mid focused pickups. The BQC should help alot... also with the TP I find that if you boost more highs and lows you will "scoop" the mids a little.,

I hate gold hardware, but this is so damn classy. If I hadn't just ordered a new 6 string, I'd surely be looking into possible shipping options for this.. Wow. Just, wow. Whoever ends up with this is one lucky s-o-b.

Gold hardware only works on certain finishes for me.

If you put it on a black bass, its like "the full Cleveland".

If you put it on a white bass, its too much "Larry Graham"

But it's ok on a natural like this one, Amber is OK, but anything darker than that, its not for me.

I actually prefer black hardware, if I was going for something custom, but usually just get by with chrome.

Hey everyone! Here's a couple of pics from this afternoon's fundraiser gig. A lot of FUN! Great food also:D
