Thanks Amos...Omer told me not to sell my Ampeg Fridge, I'd regret it...NOW that I have an Amp to push air thru my former Fridge, but my shoulders couldn't take pushing and pulling that cab any longer.:ninja: If all else fails...I have a great buddy that has all kinds & sizes of cabs that he said that I could borrow and he'd deliver to the local gig for me. Can't beat that! :D:bassist:

So, been playing my new to me Euro5LX a ton lately. Used it pretty much 100% over the weekend on a number of gigs.
Really really digging it.

Anyway, I also found that it's very responsive to tapping.
I recorded a little thingy last night.

This has the wrong logo on the headstock. If it's '95-'96 it should be the SSD logo. I think this is an NS-5CR-FM, and more like a '99.

When I discussed my NS-4CR with PJ he described the "transition period" as when there was the SS logo but they were still putting MOP dot markers on the fingerboard. That period ended when the crown inlays started production.

I believe they went from the SSD logo to the SS logo immediately upon getting the trademarks back.

Maybe Patrick, Sam, or someone could confirm or correct?

I agree with you Jeff, this add is confusing as the transition was made showing the SS logo but still having dot's...has to be a 1999 era bass for sure.

Yes, this is a transition model from late '98/early '99 when the trademark was reacquired and the "double S" was being reintroduced and inlays were beginning to be implemented into the Czechs.
Not all got both at the same time.

All Spector 5 & 6's also started to be made 35" scale at this time so it's very possible, although he lists it at 34", it very well might be 35" scale.
Have him check if this is important to you.

So I just picked up a q4pro. Not near as nice as most of the axes in this thread, but it will be a big improvement over what it's replacing.

Any thing I should be on the lookout for when it arrives? Common problems etc? I have done a few searches but not a ton comes up. Any common things people like to swap out on these? Pups? Preamps etc?

Nice! I've alway wanted to spend some time learning to tap like that, but there is so much more I NEED to learn before I do.. Beautiful piece!

Spent a lot of last night watching Quintin Berry and Doug Wimbish vids on YouTube. Don't know whether I should be motivated to practice 8 more hours a day or just give up knowing I'm never gonna be able to play like that, LOL! One thing's for sure, they both sound great.

Yeah, last time I watched a Wimbish vid, I looked at my NS-2 & thought "Might as well make a coffee table out of it - I'll never be able to play it that well!"

This is why I concentrate on my tone so much. My playing will never be anything other than average and solid. No flash whatsoever. But every time I play, the other musician always compliment my tone. And I'm OK with that. Wife, kids, mortgage, etc mean I don't have the time to put into great chops. Props to you guys that do. I dig listening to all the material that gets posted here. But for me it's all about Tone & Groove.:bassist:

So I should have the Hartke Kilo tomorrow, I also picked up a Bass Attack pedal which Ive been wanting to try. Hear the the Bass attack pedal is pretty much built into the Kilo already so I figure with the pedal Im all set for the sound guys that dont want to DI off the amp for what ever reason.
