So, I dont want to drop names or possible purchases in the works, but I may have a legend 4X pretty soon. And I remember seeing the "Lite Brite" ReBop one day and commenting on how cool that paint job was. I was then told that it was a vinyl cover for the bass. The company is www.skinyourskunk.com. And they will do custom pictures or graphics for your guitar or bass. Costs a bit more, but a complete custom vinyl skin.............

I think John Delucca and Bassboy know where I'm going with this.......

What would everyone think of this on a legend 4X?

Thanks Jeff:cool: It's good to hear reinforcement from bass players like you that have played a lot of years and played tons of different basses. :)
+1 on that! That first one you never forget...and it's that same feeling for each one after that too. :smug:

Thanks Carey:) A bad snowstorm caused this benefit to be rescheduled from Dec...NOW we have looming over us this weekend, snow/rain/freezing rain! Argh!!!:rollno: Maybe, Just maybe it might go south of us, by God's good grace!

I was wondering about the weather for your jam, I hope it all works out....our weather is back in the 50's with a low of 37, we had a cold spell and hit -6 and now for some reason the 30's feel kind of warm! lol

YES!!

Okay, here's a horror story for all of you.

I wake up in the morning after being promised via telephone a delivery of my bass last night to check my tracking information and see that it hasn't changed. I called to confirm that the bass was at the UPS depot like my tracking info told me and they had to call the location and get somebody to call me back 'within the hour'. Well two hours go by and I call back to find out that nobody left a note to call me back so I was really disappointed with that. I spoke to another person who said the same thing, and didn't get a call back again, so I decided to head down there and figure out what was going on for myself.

So I get there to a huge line, and only one guy working and running into the back to get to the packages, which was clearly holding up the line big time. Eventually its my turn and I give the guy my tracking number and ask him whats going on with my package, and he has to go in the back to look for it. Comes back maybe 15 minutes later, and says its out for delivery :hmm:

So eventually I leave after speaking to the guy working there for a few minutes to wait at home for my promised package again. It finally gets here, and after letting it warm up I finally opened up the case to my beautiful green Euro 5LX!

Upon further inspection, I notice a big crack down the front of the bass body:

Heres the back, the crack doesn't go around the top of the body but continues more then halfway down the back of the body:

There are several small cracks in the back of the neck, also:

Sorry for the long post but I'm really not too sure what to do here.. I finally got my dream bass, and of course this happens, but there's nothing I can do with it, just kinda have to let it sort itself out. I have before pictures in the sellers shop and the bass is in mint shape, I do trust that he sent it out in good shape and this happened in shipping. I think it happened from being loaded onto the truck for delivery in the -40 degree weather then taken off because they didn't have time to deliver to my place. This happened several times and I'm really disappointed with UPS right now.

It looks great aside from the cracks in the finish and the flaming in the finish looks killer compared to my dark Blue 5LX that I also love so much. I sent a message to the seller and most likely won't hear back until tomorrow during the day, so I guess now I play the waiting game… Again :scowl:

Words can't describe... Sorry.

Hey man, I appreciate it. I've seen some horror stories and I'll tell you it could've been much worse. I'm still pretty disappointed but I know it's gonna take a long time to track down another Green Euro 5, especially at the price I got it for. I really don't know if it's repairable, my dad seems to think so, but I know I didn't pay for a damaged bass and I know it's not going to be cheap to get done, so only time will tell.

MAN, That sucks....I hope they have insurance for a replacement if that's what you decide to do!

Hope the seller declared the correct value and insured it so there will be some replacement money coming your way. Did it ship in a case or anything?

I may end up getting my money back and using it towards my Custom Green Rebop 5 build with the maple neck and black inlays. It was going to be a one of a kind build but I just couldn't make it happen, and then I found a green Euro and had my mind set on it. It would just be the wait time on a custom build that would kill me but I know it would be worth it in the end, if it can get here safely.

As far as I'm concerned it was insured for the correct value so the claim should go through, it's just going to take a long time from what I hear.

It shipped in a Spector HSC that had packing peanuts in it but it wasn't boxed when it arrived at my house. It was also missing a lot of the shipping tags so I'm not sure if a box was damaged or what, maybe they just tossed a damaged box away?

Either way, the tracking tag wasn't on the HSC and that definitely explains why nobody was able to tell me where the bass was 100% for the past two days. Apparently it wasn't even scanned before they loaded the truck this morning. :rollno:

Just the case arrived? No box? That's unacceptable. :rollno:

It's hard, but just insist on a full refund. You need to clear yourself from this whole debacle.

After you get the refund contact Todd Cooke about a Rebob build. UPS has always been good on everything I've ordered and I've ordered a lot of stuff. But no company is perfect and it seems UPS in your area has issues.

Maybe have the next shipment sent to Grand Forks to hold for pickup. I looks like you're 2.5 hours from there. Not ideal... Just a thought.

Maybe FedEx is better in your area. Anyway, I feel your pain. Hang in there. ;)

o my lord.... hope it works out for you man. On another note, have you plugged it in?:hyper:

Thanks a lot man, I really hope so too. I was honestly on the fence about plugging it in just out of disappointment but everyone at home kept telling me to do it, that I'll likely have it for a month or so while this gets settled anyway so I did and I'm really happy I did.

I haven't opened up the control cavity yet but it has two volumes and a bass/treble with a centre indent so I'm gonna say it has the OBP-1. Sounds kinda like my Blue Euro 5 but I haven't had enough time yet to really say so. I wish I could throw this new set of circle K's on and set it up for Drop A but I'm gonna hold off on that and for the time being enjoy it in standard. Still really impressed with the finish on this one. I was expecting it to be nice but was wowed when I opened the case before I noticed the damage.

My amp tech gave me a few guitar luthier's numbers and I'm hoping to get the bass by them in the near future for a repair quote, but I'm expecting it to be quite expensive and I really don't know if I want to settle for that right now.
