So should I be expecting my 01 Euro 5 to be a little heavier then my Euro 5LX? Not a huge deal, but I may have to get a better balanced strap if that's the case.
:
My Euro 4 was heavier than my Euro 4lx
I just got a response from Todd and yes, you can order a 35" on an NS4. It's a $499 upcharge.
ouch thats a bit.... I remember there being some concern about getting a NS-2 in 35" so maybe that is a new option.
I'll use ProSteels in a pinch if I need strings and the mom/pop shop I get strings from doesn't have DR in stock, but there's just a built in sound that D'Addario strings have that doesn't sound right to me, like an overtone thing that doesn't sit well - not sure how else to describe it. I know strings are such a personal preference thing - one of my roomies is a bass player and he hates the sound of my DR's - he buys the cheap strings from Musician's Friend (whomever makes their house brand) that to me sound like kite twine but he loves them.
that overtone thing is why I don't like Rotosounds.... but you nailed it, strings are such a personal choice.
I'm trying the Pros in an effort to save money. They're a lot cheaper but if I don't like the tone that won't make a difference and I'm back to DRs.

I prefer D'addario to just about any string. I also like Dunlops and DRs but the D'addarios just work for me :)
Not quite. You certainly can get a USA 35" scale 4.
So why does Robbie Merrill play Euros???
Because he's a southpaw. Believe it or not (and I think JPS pointed this out also) you can't currently get any USA as a lefty (unless something has changed recently).
I always get that confused...

Just a FEELER.

Does anyone out there have an all original CLEAN Kramer Era Spector 5 string WILLING to trade/deal with an all original clean L series 65 Fender Jazz bass. Sunburst finish ??

Pm me with details of your bass and I can send you pics/info details on the 65 Jazz.

Thanks

Hey Spector Club,

I know some of you are fretless players, how much 'mwah' do you get out of your fretless spectors?

I'm curious because my *fretted* NS2-A can 'mwah' all day long, and I was imagining the unbelievable mwah which an equivalent fretless bass could yield.

You'd have better luck trying to take a musket from Charlton Heston.

The Mrs & I are on our way to a house party a few blocks away. I know 2 of the occupants pretty good, and the 3rd (a gal) has 2 Ampeg fridges in her basement space. I'm hoping to get to know her a little better tonight :D

I hope santa is good to you guys and your families and friends this year. Merry Christmas! (Krampus, Festivus, etc.)

I wonder how you can get fretless "mwah" sound from a fretted bass...Unless you mean something different by "mwah". I have fretless NS-2 and it does that. Lowest action as possible, roll balance knob about 30% to neck pup and play closer to neck.

It's gotta be nice to know the person with the combination to the vault! Pure niceness. What preamp is in the 4 string? HAZ?
