You DON'T cover that wood with a pickguard! :D

Hehehe :D A.K.A. "The Danosoe" :D Good one Jeff!

That Violet quilt is gorgeous, but I agree, on such a large surface area, it's a bit much. If neck through, it would have been helped by the bare maple piece through the body. Otherwise, a pick guard. And im not even a fan of guards, but an abalone or tortoise guard would look sweet and there's quilting to spare.

Maple board would have been nicer as well as it would give it a little more contrast. Still, that's a stunner!

Has anyone ever swapped in 35P(front), and 35DC(rear) on a Rex Pro 4? I tried 35P and 35J but I didn't like the tone, and it didn't sound anything like that setup does on my NS2000/4...I got a 35P4 coming to me but I might just keep the HZs in it because the tone is pretty nice paired with a TP, just thought I could get a similar tone as my NS2000/4 from it.

Today is the one year anniversary of my dear friend Chris Loe's passing.

He was a vibrant and vocal member of this community and friend to anyone who loved bass guitar, especially those made by Stuart Spector.

Rest in peace my friend. You are missed.

I can't believe it's been a year already. RIP Chris.

I thought you had a tremolo on your ARC, Patrick.

If you are thinking about the one with the Bigsby, that belongs to my friend Todd McCagg.

I spoke with Stuart recently and my ARC6 set-neck with the Floyd Rose should be finished in February. That will be the first ARC6 with a Floyd.

The Bigsby, although cool looking, was giving me trouble with pulling the tuning out every time you hit it. That's even after adjusting the tension.

I really prefer the Floyd Rose bridge.

This happened shortly after I joined the club. :( I didn't really get a chance to know the guy, but I've heard good things about him & he was pleasant in the few conversations I did partake in.

My condolences. :(

Not to derail, but more of a sidenote:

I never got a chance to meet Chris but know that he was a great person.

I might be able to help answer your question to Patrick, he informed me that he has another ARC with tremolo as well as a new bass being built and they both should be done soon.

ooops...didn't see your green light and thought you signed out, excited to see your ARC with Floyd! Whats the news on your new bass?

RIP Chris

An amazing bassist, teacher and true family man.

I spoke with his sister yesterday and sent regards on behalf of the Talkbass Spector Club.

Below are the Spectors he owned.

I remember how happy he was when he received the white Euro4LX, then the joy of getting the Amber Kramer NS-2 & the Woodstock Blue NS-2 and Coda4DLX.

The Blue NS-2 is with his wife, being held for his son to eventually play.

And one of my proudest moments, presenting the Chris Loe Bracelet to Stuart and putting
the Chris Loe Ribbon on the wall behind Stuart’s Work bench where all the final photos are taken before basses leave the shop.
