In fairness a big chunk of the credit goes to the guy who mixed and engineered it, Lior Goldenberg; I was sending him three separate signals (Bass Driver, AGRO & B7K) and he was blending them all to taste based on each section of each song

You're all honestly making me miss that Rex too!

It was absurdly aggressive with that pickup and electronic setup (and as a result not suitable for most of my gigs) and I definitely prefer the ergonomics of the NS body shape, but the neck on that thing was killer and sound was just vicious...is Adam still selling his?

Has anyone used an MB200 as a headphone practice amp?? I'm selling my Carvin BX500 in favor of a smaller amp that has an aux. input.

I've been looking into the Cafe Walter practice headphone amp, but for just a few $$ more I can get a used MB200 with very similar features, but will also plug into a cab if necessary.

Cafe walters sound amazing and i highly recommend them. I tried a genz head thinking along the same lines and its not even close in quality of sound on headphones. I image the GK is relatively average given the price point.

This product was really short sighted.
No 18 volt (or even 27) mode for EMG users?!?
Or even other voltage modes for various musical gadgets that don't use 9 volt type batteries.

Guitar Center has several Rex5 and Rex4's in their used inventory. A couple of them are reasonably priced if they're truly in excellent condition.

I think if I were going to put a pickguard on it I would use a clear pickguard like Sadowsky does on their premium tops. That way you get the best of both worlds. I personally like them without it though.

Clear pickguards are nice, but on a body that has THIS much open space, a black or white pearl PG could look saweet!

This is exactly what I liked about the original Codas, the new ones need contrast, the bodies are very big compared to a NS body Spector

I know! As beautiful as those tops are, it's almost too much of a good thing. The beauty gets lost in the simplicity, in this case.

Here's a question for the gurus. The NS-2J and 2J5 and ReBop are all carved body with bolt-on necks (Just the way I like them). Why do the new US bolt-on series use flat bodies with conventional tummy cuts?

I've never noticed that the US bolt ons are flat. Does that include the bolt on NS2 ?

I don't know if it's a legitimate feel or paranoia, but I also prefer the bolt on's. I've got this huge fear that a neck thru would have an issue and the bass would be trashed. Which is probably the most insane and delusional fear. Especially, when you see so many that are 30 plus years old and they are as stable today as the day they were made. Or it could be my over delusion brain realizing I can't afford a neck thru at this time and making excuses.

I'll stop talking and making myself look stupid now. Back to your regular programming.

They are curved, but not as much as the neckthrus and the rebops...

The USA NS-2J special edition is very slightly curved but by Spector Euro standards relatively flat. Here's a front and back shot of mine...

Someone on a previous thread summed it up nicely, the USA bolt ons are like a Spector/Fodera love child.

Whatever you or he did, the tone is awesome. The songs are cool, guitars/drum everything. Nice package, and a kick ass bass sound to boot. Hats off.


IN! with my couple:
The Rebop has now been refitted with EMG 35DC and 18V harness. Very aggressive instrument with lots of bite, even more than before.

In late with the girls. Interesting history that I learned about swampy recently. She is actually a late NS4CRFM (not a Euro4 as I'd originally thought) that the Czech shop built for NAMM, hence the tube quilted wings. The original owner bought the bass from Beaver Felton at Bass Central in 2002.

That explains this AMAZING quilting! She's a beauty E!
This Forte 4 has better maple flaming than #36 did...plus this has the USA Spector 9V Circuit, correct? Yummy!

How are you liking the SpectorCore and what do you like about it? Not many in our club have owned these, maybe 2-3. At one time I just about bought a SpectorCore 5 string.
