You know, we've been talking about practice space and I just had to say this. My space is more for keeping my three year old away from everything and destroying it. I know she will eventually grow out of it....... After I yell, scream and cry if anything happens to any of my second babies. Which brings me to the point of "Silent" practice. As most live sessions are at church, I'm not dragging speaker cabs and heads back and forth, just the bass of choice and my ZoomB3. Which follows into the absolute awesome uses of the ZoomB3. For nights of insomnia and a three year old and definitely a wife who don't want to hear anything after 8 pm. The ZoomB3 has every amp and effects model you can think of, plus built in drum tracks from every genera to additional beat tempos and rhythm pattern. Has the ability to feed ITunes through the headphones as well as recording an ultra clean signal to the computer. I know I've probably rambled on way too many times about the ZoomB3. But it is one awesome unit. Plus XOR line out for simple mixing board line that is super clean too.

You know I almost bought one of those when I was stationed in Korea, and was really curious about them. So are you not using an Amp while using the Zoom :eyebrow:. Cause that would be pretty awesome. Just curious how you get the send to the headphones. I live in an apartment complex so I can't be loud... :ninja:

I've had a Zoom B3 for over a year, and I have barely scratched the surface of what it can do. The amp models are my favorite thing about it; I use the SVT emulator all the time for high-end, cold, grindy tone. I am not a huge fan of many of the actual effects, but I pull one of two out of the box now & then. I have played with the looper as well, and it is great. IMHO, it is the best thing ZOOM has ever released.
Wolf - how are you using headphones with it?

+1 on the Zoom B3. Got one on my desk! :-) Its also my tuner.

What's funny is I have my best tone playing the Hartke emulator into my MicroMark801 into my Ampeg Microstack cab. Sounds so badass! I do like the SVT, too. But I can also go direct into the Ampeg Microstack head for that, too! :-)

I have used the B3 for headphone practice too... it is great. You can plug headphones into the L/Mono jack with a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter.

Ahh man that is legit!! I have that adapter for my set up. I run a Presonus USB audiobox to my laptop and use Guitar Rig 5. I do have latency issues time to time so I'm looking for something to utilize away from the USB setup. Worldeater said above that the looper is great, which is what I mainly use in Guitar Rig. Lay down loops on the electric guitar and just go at it with the improv on the bass. I'll be making a trip to the music store this weekend! :hyper:

The Zoom B3 is amazing. For the price, it may be the best $199 you can ever spend. I use it all the time playing through headphones and use it as a Preamp for recording through my Mbox to ProTools.

I primarily just use the Amp simulation Patches and also use the Avalon U5 patch.

It can also be used as a USB interface and will work directly with Cubase, which it comes with a stripped down version.
It also works directly as a USB interface with Presonus Studio One. (You can download a free basic version of Studio One from their site if you are looking to get into recording.)

And best of all you can customize patches.

Here is a Patch I created copying the Eddie Jackson Tone.
I EQ'd the original bass down. So the growl you hear is from the NS-2 through the Zoom B3.
