Wow, you have cut a bunch of basses haven't you?
Yes I have Carey. It's a combination of things, the main one being another brand of bass I've become quite fond of. I have also put my Harley Davidson in the shop and need funds to restore it and upgrade it. Plus, I'm getting close to retirement and need to cut back on some of the extravagances I've been enjoying. I've chosen those two basses as the one's I can't part with.

Mmm Hmm, that 'other brand' has the real potential to dent the finances pretty hard...

My other passion, Harley’s, what are you doing to it?
Well, there's repair. My back brakes went out, the paint over a dent repair on my gas tank has all chipped off, and the matte black inner fairing (I have a 2008 FLHX) has bleached white from our wonderful sun, which I'm getting painted to match the rest of the bike.

Upgrades... I'm getting a full stage one done on the engine which includes a full true dual Rinehart exhaust system, and I'm getting new handlebars for a higher position for my hands/arms. Not full ape hangers, but they have a 12" rise.

Sweet! I don't have a shot of when I sent it to the shop (had to be trailered due to bad gas), but here's one from a couple years ago...

The other bass plays nice, I'm taking this as Dingwall exploration. The bike needs to stay road worthy for the fun and enjoyment naturally! I would have thought that the white Euro with its modification of the 9V would have stayed in place?

It was the last one I sold. The two other basses didn't cover the full cost of the new Dingwall. Adding the White Wimbish payed for the Dingo and added $1K to the Harley costs. Once I soberly looked at my priorities, I knew it's what needed to be done.

Do any of you guys have experience with the Spectorcore line? Looking into a 5 string fretless I just found. Only slight concern is the 35” scale length. What positives and negatives have you run into?
The Spectorcore has been around for awhile and has gotten a lot of praise, fretless is something a person has to get attached to so to speak but you will have the lines to assist unless you have chosen the clean board...but, you will have the markings on the edge (a little secret of mine, I use a silver Sharpe to mark the G and the B (E on the A) locations for added reference on my lineless NS4). The 35" scale is split between the nut and the bridge and in the case of the fretless you will not have the adjustment of frets (except for the lines or side marking). Get it, try it out and then tell us what adjustments you might have to make...it will be fun!

We as bassists are always chasing the next exception to our sound and enjoyments, enjoy yourself....

New Addition! I recently had interest in a Forte 5 that was a really good deal but I just missed out..the thought never left my head though and after seeing this beauty for a good price I couldn't resist...I generally consider myself a Warwick thumb lover but now I have two Spector's so the brand rivalry is equal. Can't wait to play this sucker!!Brand new Euro LX5
