sent the ns2a seller a message and he said he is selling it for a friend and couldnt find a serial number , so now he believes it is a ns2a . we will see if the price is changed .
No price change yet but the description says...
"This is a SPECTOR by Kramer NS-2A 4 string bass guitar made in Korea, in gloss white finish with a hard shell case. It features Shaller tuners and active Bartollini P-bass & Jazz bass pickups. It is in very good condition with only minor wear, scratches and dings.CA residents please add 9.25% sales tax." ...with an added toggle switch...

The Ebay listings get even stranger.....Anyone know what is the deal with this bass?
I know the late NS-2A's were made by Samick, but did they also release Spector Copies?
(P.S. Are you kidding with strings & mis-matched knobs..:rollno:.)

Scroll down when you get to the page there are alot of photos in the listing.

also , fwiw , the 12th fret on a standard ns2a would have double dot markers . and the one inlay sticker wouldnt cover both of them .thats why they send two small inlay stickers for the 12th . i put a set on my rex .
Well aware,
But the fact that a few are not centered well and that I was able to "cheat" when applying them to my Legend 6 by making the 12th fret dots almost invisible by using a matched color furniture scratch repair marker (removable with an alcohol wipe :D) made me think "stickers".

If they're real inlays they're not done well. Up to this point I had never heard of an NS2A "artist". Just a few of the last ones that had some USA wood/parts.

That's a new one on me. Something tells me it is Samick, but was not allowed to be produced for very long (if at all. prototype?).

Spector Bass 5 Strings Euro Custom/Alder Body Core | eBay

WOW WOW WOW
Alder body wings though.
Considering I don't like the Alder backed LX's nearly as much as the (mostly were) solid Maple winged NSCR's and Euro's, I don't think I would have liked the tone or response of this one. The Maple board was the only thing I found interesting about it.

That real nice GC white Euro5 that iceboxbass posted sold in a heartbeat. Rats!

I think the guy who listed it had it right... it is the unholy offspring of Samick and William Shatner... LOL.

I concur about the Alder now that you mentioned it Phat...my ReBop5 had Alder wings and that's why I really didn't care for the look and sound.
Wow! That white Euro5 on GC is gone already?! :eeks: I'm not really a white bass person...for a solid color I'd rather have black. I think white is over sold bc of a couple past bands. IMHO

A project well done...way to stick with it Trace! Even when there were times you that you asked yourself,"what did I get myself into this for"? :hyper:
I pat you on your back! :bassist:
I must confess...I thought about buying it a couple times, before you bought it, bc I was looking for another Spector at the time.

Great job, man! You are a saint for saving this bass.

Now I wonder, how has the heat from the fire affected it's tone? We need a side-by-side comparison to an undamaged Spector NS-2J....(*runs for cover*!) :p

I had a Rebop 5 DLX with Alder wings for about "5 minutes" too. Didn't like the response/tone and it neck dived horribly. Only bass I've ever owned, Spector or otherwise, that did that.

That white Euro5 was literally gone within a couple hours of you posting it. I considered buying it but it was listed as sold already.

According to PJ its some sort of unauthorized rip off. There have been a few companies that have done one or two, here and there. Not as a mass-produced thing but perhaps less than 10 guitars total, so they can fly them under the radar. This appears to be one of those instances.

Or who knows, it could be a one-off made by someone at the Samick factory.

PJ says he's never seen one of these before and it's nothing remotely affiliated with SPECTOR.

Looks more like an NS-2J-AR ... it has the deep pocket bolt on neck. you can tell by the difference in the finish between the neck and the pup that it is not a neckthru.
The NS-4HS had soapbar pups....
If it was a neck-thru it would be a NS-2JJ.

Not sure about that. I think the JARs were only available in 3 colors: white, black and natural - and only 83 of each were made. This one has a body shape like the Legends - I know newer US bolt-ons feature a similar body shape.

What you're 'resurrecting' has two Js right, but neck thru?

I guess it's a NS-4H2 just with J/J PUPs. Kind of like this one Invalid Link Removed but without the walnut?

JPS - link no worky Invalid Link Removed :ninja:
