Truly inspiring story by LimaGuy on all things Spector site!

Celinder_32 absolutely STOLE that NS-2 from GC! Holy &^#%$%!!!! They listed it as a Euro?

I'm going to replace the PUPs on my NS-2a.

EMG PJHZ Set Passive Three Pickup Set for Bass, Black | eBay

Will these work?

Also, G.A.S. attack!

I think it may be labelled incorrectly though. With two J PUPs, is this still an NS-4H2?

We're getting there. :D :hyper:
She's out of surgery...Out of traction, just have some minor cosmetics to do... staining where I got into the finish a tad ... oops, and re-applying the stock matte finish.
She looks pretty good as is is... I think I'm off center about a 1/16 of an inch.... Mind you this was all done by hand except rough cutting the spine with a table saw. :eyebrow:
Those are the original PUP ear holes, btw....

Excellent Job!
Which guitars did you use (or what guitar)?
Really professional sounding. Clean bass. Great all the way around.

Many thanks JPS! I appreciate the compliments.

I have a Schecter C1 Blackjack with EMG 81/85 pickups that i used for all the guitar tracks. I just ran it straight into my Axe Fx Ultra and into Cubase 6. I split the bass (Euro 4LX35) into two tracks and one through the Axefx (Ampeg>4X10 cab) and one into Ampeg SVX.

PeleDog it was listed as a Euro. I remember back in 99 or 00? when Specter switched to MoP inlays I know a few people were upset by it ,but in this case it worked out ok for me:D But to the average person who is not a spector fan the Euro and Kramer NS2 look very similar. The guitar manager at GC probably just glanced at it and wrote it up as a Euro. If this bass had been a Euro i would have bought it anyway. Most of the Euros i have played have played just as well as my NS2. At 699 If it had been a Euro i would have eventually bought a Haz Lab from the Spector site and would still have been happy!

Looks more like an NS-2J-AR ... it has the deep pocket bolt on neck. you can tell by the difference in the finish between the neck and the pup that it is not a neckthru.
The NS-4HS had soapbar pups....
If it was a neck-thru it would be a NS-2JJ.

GC has 3 white Spector basses for sale...a Euro 5, Performer 4, 83 limited Ed. NS-2JAR. Never have seen a white Performer before, darn right pretty! Sorry for the poor quality pics...from cell phone.

Question about the NS-95, is the bridge and tuners more like the NS-2A or the Legend? If you have a chance give me some comments on it overall.

There is one for sale on ebay I was looking at, same color as yours and from MI, is it you?
Still waiting on my Warwick to sell but I am still lookin in the meantime. Someone :help: my Spector GAS

The tuners & bridge are almost identical to the NS-2A.
The NS-95 has EMG-HZ pups, very powerful, very deep, growly mids, very low neck action, solid maple wings, a very very well built bass!
I love how I can dial-in so many different tones! It's a little heavier than my NS-2A and Legend 4. No that's not mine on Mi. eBay...wouldn't sell mine!:rollno:The twin to mine is still for sale on eBay except in black, $649.00 new, never played or owned. It's not a
SSD though. How much is the one in Mi.? I'll include pics of bridges and tuners from NS-2A & NS-95. I'm GASing for a USA Spector right now.:help: Coda 4 or 5 :bassist: or Forte 4 or 5.

Thanks for the photos of the tuners and bridge.
The one on Ebay is a Red SSD NS-95, Start $259, Buy it now $499, looks like it is in great shape.

hey phat , i believe it to be a ns2a artist edition that had actual crown inlays . looks like inlay filler around the inlays to me . but in any respect , its way over priced . the last artist ns2a i seen sell went for 650 i believe . there was one on here last year i think . seen several on ebay over the years . pj rubal told me one time only a handful of these were made . ive seen another white one , a few black ones , a light purple one , and a sunburst one .
