Spector Club - Part 10

Actually, yours should be an NS-5H2MM-EX

But you know as well as I do that your bass was a custom order, and to my knowledge I think it's the only single MM model out there at the moment. I think he may have just recently done another.

Typically when there's an MM pup at the bridge, the name has "MM" added to it.
So.....
Using the naming specifics explained a couple pages back, this should be an NS-5H1MM-EXW. :smug:
(Stir the pot, stir the pot :D;))

You are right... except that Stuart doesn't like to make new model names for models that are not going to be put into production on a regular basis.

Which is where some of the strange model names that don't fit come from. He'll shoe-horn a one-off trial model... in other words it's a test to see how it does and if it's widely accepted and thus in demand... like this single MM at the bridge NS-5H... whatever model.

If he's not going to make a bunch of them, especially if they are a single special order such as this bass was, he'll just call it what it started out as.

This started out as an NS-5H2-EX-W (you forgot the dash between EX and W. The wide string spacing isn't related to the EXotic wood top). LOL.

Nope. Intentional as mmBongo has it labeled "NS-5H2W", which I assume he took "verbatim" from the back of the headstock. :p
All in fun anyway.

PS. I'm pretty sure this is the second single MM Spector 5 I've seen. There was another one on eBay about a year or less ago that I'm pretty sure wasn't this one.

As always, I could be wrong. :)

my weekend was awesome. i played my normal church gig (boring like normal) and someone came up to me after the show and wanted to know what my bass was and where he could get one. ive converted a keyboard player to bass... another win for the Spector team.

Looks awsome in black. :bassist: I will keep my eyes open. Just incase you were interested in other colors.
JPSBassist is selling one in white. And Basscentral has a light wood color. I actually just ordered the darker NS-2JA-R from Basscentral this afternoon.

I'm selling my Kramer NS-2A W/Spector HC, $350.00 & SSD NS-95 W/TDK HC $650.00. Need to sell, GASing bad for an Ian Hill or Coda 5!!!! I posted on TB classified tonight. PM me if interested! They are both great basses! Clean!
