Just got this a couple of days ago from Spector, going Into my Euro Doug Signature. Anyone put the USA 9 volt (Hazlab) preamp into a Euro? Did it sound as good as I think it is going to?

Is this the bridge that comes with ALL NS-2's now? I am about to order a Spalted Maple with black hardware soon....I am curious if it'll be the same bridge and hardware as my Forte?

(I know there was a bridge discussion earlier but I am not sure that I got to read it all ...)

Here is the Spector comparison track I recorded.

bassgiant15 sent me his drum track and I played something similar to the riff he played earlier to compare sounds of each of my Spectors. (not the style I usually play so it's not as good as his....) but I wanted him to hear the comparison to his CRFM4.

Euro 4 (Aguilar OBP-1) (DR Lo-Riders)
NS-2A White tuned down 1/2 step (EMG BT@18V) (DR Hi Beams)
NS-2A Sunburst (No Preamp @ 18V) (DR Hi Beams)
NS-2JA-R (EMG BT@18V) (DR Fat Beams)
ReBop (TonePump) (w/ D' Addario Chrome Flats)

First time I tried Flats, (preparing for the Fretless conversion)

Some of my comments:
The Flats on the ReBop took away that harsh bright tone that I wasnt too happy with and I actually liked the tone this time.
The NS-2A Sunburst you can obviously hear that there is no Preamp in it.
Its funny to hear the NS-2JA-R "smooth tone" playing a heavy riff like this.

But I think all 6 are "growling"

Yes. It will be the same bridge and hardware as your Forte, granted that your Forte has the newer bridge with intonation screws.

The USA Bridge has three variants: gold plated brass (like the one on my new NS-2), gold plated brass with Piezo saddles and black aluminum.

So if you order a USA Neck-Thru (other than a Forte) you get the bridge pictured above in either 4, 5, or six strings. If you order the Piezo option on an NS-4, NS-5XL or NS-6XL, you get the Gold USA Bridge with the Piezo saddles, no intonation screws.

I can't tell from the photo if your Forte has the new bridge with screws or not. The new black USA Bridge has intonation screws as well.

Basically, if you order black hardware on any non-Forte model, you get the Forte Bridge and Tuners.

Those sound great. The Aguilar and TonePump sound different. TonePump has more punch, Aguilar seems to bring out the high end more.

What did you use to record? I have Audacity and a Tascam US122, and Windows 7. Horrible latency issues.

Yes my forte has intonation screws and I love it so I was hoping I'd have that option for my NS2!

I agree the Tonepump does have more punch but the Aguilar brings out more high end.

It was recorded straight through a M-box into Protools. (Windows 7)

Regarding the latency....it was horrible in Protools, But about 20mins ago, I just found out there is a low latency mode that I never knew about. Now I feel bit better, I was struggling trying to record the original riff that bassgiant15 recorded. Now I understand why. The latency issue always drove me nuts. Tomorrow I will re-record some my songs and I will let you know this low latency mode makes a difference.
