I live close enough to Floyd that I could check it out — it may well be no more than a slack truss rod. But I don't have an acoustic guitar to trade... And I already have a rare black NS2-A.
You should gp check it out. If for nothing else, you could flip it here and maybe buy something you'd really like to have...:hyper:
I sent him an email asking if would sell the bass out right.
I have an older Washburn acoustic 6 string but, I don't think he would go for just that.

Once apon a time they all came with threaded inserts and machine screws . They are easy to add though. First time I saw them was on a spector. I add them to every bass now. I get mine at a local shop. Stew Mac may have them. Drill the holes out, tap the inserts in and your good to go.

Thanks for the info, I'm definitely gonna look into this.

I don't know, dude, you might have have a deal there. Sounds like he's willing to trade both his Spector AND and electric six for one decent acoustic. If he doesn't make you a deal, I'll go see it this week. Geez, it might be worth me going out and BUYING an acoustic guitar just to have trade bait!

Thanks for putting this up this morning, this is my new NS-4! :bassist:

I had a friend holding a bass for me, a 6 string Fbass that I really liked, but I couldn't afford to get it back from him right now, and I didn't want him to hold it for years, so we sold it. It just sold last week. I was bummed for a couple of days, but I kept saying to my wife, it's okay, I have my Dougie (My Euro Doug Wimbish Signature), and someday I will have an American Spector.

This morning, I saw this bass on Ebay, and showed it to my wife, telling her how much I love Buckeye Burl on a bass, and this was an American Spector for a unreal price. (I am a little concerned that the price is so low, but it says it is in new condition, and they have a 10 day return policy if something is wrong).

It was then she told me she had been cutting corners a couple of places in our budgets to surprise me for my 40th Birthday in March to buy me an American Spector. She then told me she had enough saved up and that if I wanted it to go for it, that I would be saving her money in the long run by buying this now.

SO...next week my American NS-4 will be here!!!:hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper:

Is my wife the greatest or what!?!?!? :bassist: :p

You're a lucky man! And yeah, after the last couple years with all the health issues, this is an awesome feel-good story too. Congrats and early happy birthday wishes to you!

you did WHAT to a white 2A ??????:eyebrow:

My first SPECTOR was a black gloss 2A.

I don't know what I was thinking, it needed to be refinished, I thought black with black hardware (I had one of those I got rid of because I ruined it with a Kahler) so I had it painted black. I must have been out of my mind back then, even had a Trace Elliot preamp for a while...

not really the best Spector out there, but here's mine :D

That's a sweet looking Performer! Nice color!

I was told this when I first joined the club not long ago: A Spector is a Spector. Performer, Legend, Euro, or USA they're all great...they're just different flavors!

Please don't give him my number. :D
BaZiiiinnnga! Lol :hiding:

I promise not to do that for every new member...just until we get out of the 40s. :hiding:

Does anyone have any gig pics with their Spectors?

This was during rehearsal of my band I put together last winter. Not best of pics. I was playing my Kramer era SPECTOR NS-2A RedBurst.
