You got number 249 past me! :ninja:

What basses could you install the pre/pickups in?
Here ... I have;
a USA NS-2J w/ BTS, could put the pre only
an IAN Hill 4LX w BQS, P and J pups could go here with the HAZ pre
a Professional Legend 4 classic Tone Pump Jr. no trim pot.... soap bars so Pre only here as well..

Or I can just save it till I get another 2A that needs better looking pups and a HAZ.

If you're happy with what you have, I'd wait for a project Spector to come along. :)

Or you could sell the Pre to me! :D

Trace,

I wouldn't replace the active PU's in the IAN Hill with the Spector PU's.
But I have a feeling you are fully capable of trying the Haz out in the IAN Hill and the NS-2J with the PU's that are currently in it.

If I was in your position I would try it in the NS-2J first then the IAN Hill or you can send it to me to try in the white NS-2A. :eyebrow: :D

Ya know.. I said that then I thought "no, the Ian Hill's BQS is wired 18v and I realllllly love the sound of that bass and shouldn't mess with it.
The NS-2J came stock with the BTS and not sure what 2 J pups would sound like with the HAZ.
The Legend is for sale and I should leave it stock....

SO! waiting for a 2A or project 2A to add to my stable....

Put the pre only in the Hill ! Or wire it without installing it. Play it a bit and see if its what you like. If not swap it back out. Easy to solder a couple of wires. 10 min maybe? You'll know in the first 15 min. Either way.

Trace, I could have sworn that Ian Hill you bought had the 18v BQC system installed in it. If so, doesn't that have a 3 band EQ with mid controls in it? I would leave that the way it is but hey, that is just me.
Yes Sir, it does have the 18v BQC/S.
C is the controller only.
S is the controller and pups as a SYSTEM.
Not sure if the pups are EMG or EMG built for Spector....

But yeah, volume, blend, stacked bass/treble, and stacked mids high/low..
