Slightly related to Spector, but I hope this mess Gibson is going through with their Indian Rosewood fretboards doesn't spill over to other builders, specifically Stuart and his Bolivian Rosewood fretboards, aka Pao Ferro.

Awhat??? Fill me in someone, I'm out of the loop on this one. :eyebrow:

I don't but I've seen dozens of SPECTOR artists who do. Carlton Armstrong (Ronnie Baker Brooks Band) has custom USA NS-5XL basses that he has Stuart make him (Humbucker at the bridge, J pup at the neck, USA 9v circuit and always a single crown inlay at the 12th fret) and he has Stuart install the hipshot on his B string so he can drop to A#.

Want to see the ultimate use of the hipshot extender, when mixed with a Steinberger bridge... sick. This video is sick I'm telling ya!

Wow! Deeply soulful! That was beautiful. Thanks JPS for sharing.

I know what you mean...guys that do stuff like taking a piece of gear or in this case an extender and doing things with them that are completely out of convention but totally musical really make the hair on the back of my neck stand on end.

It's because they think out of the box and then do it.

they all sound like spectors but I like tue ns2jar the most seems t o have the best clarity/meat combo to me. thanks for posting!

Below are some sample recordings of me playing a funky rock type riff.
Similar to a Lenny Kravitz style
Using Pro Tools samples, Addictive Drums plug-in, and me playing each of my Spectors for a sound comparison.

Basses are recorded direct into ProTools via M-Audio box no effects or compression.

They'll be available middle of next month.
Comfort Strapp is the manufacturer. First they'll be available in XL length (the most popular) and shorter lengths will come.

Street price is $39.99

When did I miss?
What bass did you get?

Played a used Spectorcore 4 at Guitard center tonight, while plugged in I really dug it, the magnetic pickup sounded GREAT.
I honestly would have picked it up, but I was unimpressed with the acoustic sound of the bass (unplugged, etc), and right now I'm lookin for a bass I can gig, but practice with it without an amp as well.

At least now I know first hand that even the cheaper Spector models feel and play solid, it was a very well put together bass for the price range.

The NS-2JAR is a very unique Spector.
Has a different type of sound with the J/J combo and the bolt-on neck. The neck profile is also very different then the Euro's and the NS-2A's.
It has a 1.5 nut with a thick and beefy neck but the playability is still very fast.

Love Manring, very musical, with this performance, I found it helped to close my eyes and just listen, I got a little distracted watching him flip his hipshots so much, really a beautiful song.

+1. I love how much emotion there is behind it, and that's part of why I like music. It's a great vehicle for self expression.
It's like, I don't know who Selene is, but I can tell he really cares for her, you know? I'd love to be able to write a piece like that someday.

Okay, I can't remember if JPS said the new intonation bridges - the black ones for the Euro 4 and 5 LX would fit a Rebop 4 and 5 DLX?

Anyone?

DOH! Nevermind.

4st black bridge with intonation screws:
This is our famous locking bridge, used on our ReBop4DLX basses!
Fits only our Europe Series basses.

I'm assuming both neck thrus and bolt ons, yes?
