I have adjusted the pups height and that did help. And I'm not sure what brand strings are on it, but they are really fresh. and are Roundwounds. I'm new to bass gear so I'm not loyal to any strings makers any suggestions on what to look for? It would be great if strings could alleviate the issue since thats a lot cheaper then buying EMGs and paying a tech to install them :)

I don't know about that. I think it just depends on the store and the bass. I just bought a used Pedulla (I know, I know, its not a Spector) that was $1200. I got it for $1000 and that included shipping from California to a NY GC.

Now I am thinking the Spectors actually do have protection power. :bassist: :D

I just went out to a major supermarket, there were only about a dozen people in the store and everyone of the them either said they had no power or had severe flooding in their basement.

Keep in mind, in my previous history,
3 years ago I had a fire which destroyed my home from my microwave going on when noone was home.

Then a year later I had severe basement flooding the day before I had a scheduled heart stent procedure.

So this is the first time I got lucky. The only difference; Now I own Spectors. :cool:

Yes, I believe you're probably correct on that. The less expensive the gear, the less room for dropping the price. And that's the least I've payed for shipping also from the east coast! I've only bought SPECTORS from east coast GC stores and other guitar stores in the past.
I bought this one from Lawnside,NJ. The other was Warwick, RI.
Have you seen that gorgeous Euro LX 6 EX for $1650.00?! That, I believe is the highest price SPECTOR I've seen on GC but well worth it for that bass!

Heh, you got a Spector from warwick. Lol.

Well, I lost power during the storm and it looks like it's not coming back until early tomorrow, but my family, house, and gear are all okay. I'm glad to hear Lima and John both got lucky as well.

Nope...Warwick was to call me back Friday but didn't. It didn't matter anyways, for I bought from Lawnside,NJ instead. I have no patience for people that cannot make decisions the same day and have the curtsy to call back. Tuesday seems sooo far away...sigh!

Hi, I am new to Talk Bass and to Spector basses too. I buy a new Spector euro lx, here:

I am very happy with the overall sound, but really dislakes that I cannot achieve the low action I like, and the hard acces to the last frets. I see in some photos here that there is some neck-through spector basses that have easy acces to 22, 23, 24 fret. I am curious about this because I never see a neck-through with the body starting at fret 20, I think this isnt cool for a bass of this price and in general for a neck-through bass. It happens only in europe models? the photos I see here of neck-through with the (normal) easy acces to last frets are only of USA Spector? Thanks for the comments here, its only curiosity...

By the way, I consider that I have huge hands, so the size of my fingers is not the problem, this bass have REALLY a bad acces to last frets.

Regarding the low action. I own a Euro LX and it has the lowest action of any bass I ever played.
Did you get this new or used?

Unless there is an issue with the neck I am thinking you can get the action you like with a good "setup"

That price is a bit high for the condition of the bass. I bought my NS-95 SSD, Brand new/old stock this year for less. And it was in near 100% perfect condition. :rollno:

Couldn't disagree more.
The NS95 has never been near as popular as the NS, hense the (much) lower used pricing and why it was discontinued after a relatively short run. A nice fretless 5 string version w/case just went on eBay for only about $300 (almost bought it).

Unless that bass is toast physically, with the Haz and the case included...that's an extremely fair price.
