Spector Club - Part 14

Just wanted to thank all my Spector friends and family for alerting me about the Spector JN-4 that was on Ebay. I got a lot of e-mails and even a phone call from PJ Rubal as he was riding on a bike trail somewhere in VA.

I have been looking for one of these basses for over 12 years and I would like to say I was finally able to work a deal with it's current owner and it will hopefully be in my possession but the middle of next week.

JP, I will get you some great detailed photos for the Spector site.

Thanks again everyone. I really appreciate it! It's going to be like Christmas at the Cooke Household next week!!!!!!

Very cool, and well worth the wait (even if you didn't want to wait, lol).

Sorry to be a pain and keep asking questions. I've recently discovered Spector basses and have fallen head over heels for them!

There's a blue bass with maple fretboard and quilt top on JPS's website (on the Spector porn section) - what model is that and how do I get one? Hehe! It's the most stunning bass I've ever seen. Looks very expensive though.

I believe that's a USA Spector NS-5XL

It's a BEM neck (bird's eye maple), with abalone inlays. It's gorgeous.

Thank you

Yes, it really is. The blue quilt together with the maple just makes me think of the beach. I could get lost in that finish for hours!

I imagine it's a long way out of my price range unfortunately

That very same bass, the one I photographed, is for sale at Bass Central. You can own that one.

Go down to the 5-string section... you can't miss it.

It is one of the most stunning SPECTORs I've ever seen. And it sounds amazing. I watched DieChris, PJ Rubal and the Tower of Power's bassist, a slap master named Darryl Anders play that one at BPL last year and it's a truly killer bass.

:) as I suspected, it's a long way out of my price range. Once my Wick sells (it's been up for sale for ever), I'll have about $1500 and I'd perhaps be able to sell on my Schecter as well for another $230.

That's including stuff like shipping and taxes. I'll have to look at buying used in my own country to avoid that stuff. But Spectors are much more expensive here.

Thank you! But the graphic above is a full-page magazine ad that'll be coming out shortly.

There are changes coming to the SPECTOR site. If you guys haven't visited in the last couple of days... those graphics with the artists by each series... now rotate and several artists are displayed.

The site is getting a major injection of love for those who play SPECTORs... Many more cool things on the way. :-)
Cool! Many Thanks to the new artist section on the SPECTOR web site! I was able to find and listen to several Forte players and check out that sound!

Congrats Todd, that is awesome! When ever you get around to opening the "Spector Museum" let me know, I will be the first in line.

Just wondering, of all of your Spectors, and you truly have an amazing collection, do you have a favorite?

Yeah I cant stand the yellow to orange amber burst thing, hell, I dislike almost any burst other than green, blue or black cherry. That thing looks like roasted oranges or something. Really sweet! The color and the way the grain pops out on that should be illegal. Any one buying kidneys??? I may have some other unused parts for sale also....(married for almost 20 yrs, it's cool....)
