If she has the Double S logo, she's around an early '99 transitional model where they reaquired the Spector trademark and were starting to ramp up the Euros with inlays and 35" (Czech 5 strings and US 5's & 6's) scale. A few slipped through still at 34" scale with dots.

If she has an SSD logo she's '98 or earlier.

The DR Black Beauties make her a Diva.

This is all assuming she's not some kind of special order, which I doubt being a Czech (No offense to any Czechs out there).

It has the Double S logo. Serial number inside the control cavity. In the pics below, you can see where a previous owner slapped her around a bit. :rollno: :D

Wow, right during the transition 98/99. I wish mine had the SS crown logo. Thats pretty beat. They sound different than the newer EUROs and have the solid wings. I love mine in the arsenal. Now I know why you restored it. Good job!!

Thanks! Yeah, she turned out better than I thought. The neck profile feels like my U.S. models. Unfortunately, I'm not going to keep her. Truth be told, I'm probably going to move my all my Spector 5'ers. :crying: I really wish there was a lightweight neck thru option available, but as they say wish in one hand... :D

Just buy a euro and have someone paint it in holoflash .... Me and tim Cole and another TB'er have owned that one . Its nice , but I wouldnt pay that kinda money for it . I didn't several years ago nor would I now .

Oh god... you guys are gonna beat me up in a minute, but I have more questions :rolleyes:

Someone has offered me a Spector Rebop for quite a reasonable price - but it seems heavy for a Rebop 5 at 9.8 lbs - is this a normal weight, or would I be better looking for another one that's lighter?

Secondly, I've heard that the Rebops are neck heavy, and dive quite a lot - is this correct?

Yeah perhaps. I've kinda got my heart set on an NT, but no idea how much they weigh, what the balance is like, whether they play well, neck profile, etc - plus, I've never played a 35" scale before either.

I wish someone who owned one lived near me so I could at least try one

LOL....I have 2 of them, to me the differences are in looks only....different knob placement or orientation, the preamps and pickups, I believe, are the same...or appear to be the same as the Kramers...the finishes are a bit different, and the bodies themselves are not as contoured as the regular Kramer NS-2A's, and to me, the wood they used on these looks more like Ash than maple, but I dont know..I have a red one just like that one in the pic, and its a fantastic bass, and lighter than my Kramer.

would you consider $450 a good price? Do you have any recordings of your bass?
