The neck of the Ian Hill isnt like way thin like a ns2a. I never played a regular Euro just the Hill and my Doug Wimbish(1.5 at nut). The profile (thickness) on both are the same just the Wimbish is more Jazz type wideness. Its Icebox's old Ian Hill, I replaced the tonepump for the Hazlab (not a big difference on sound, I just like throwing money around to have a different sound from my Wimbish)....I recommend both the Ian HIll and the Wimbish both awesome, but the Wimbish is more comfortable because of the smaller neck....only thing is im kind of not digging the emerald green anymore, who knows I might sell it and get a white one, hehe.

Oh cool, I'm the opposite, I prefer the std width. Did you get that green dougie from bass central? I was there yesterday and we were talking about that one. A green one is on the bucket list as well. I may just order an Ian hill. I do prefer the haz as well. Any ideas on wait times for a euro?

90-120 days for a special order. I'm on day 46, but who's counting? Lol

Why did ya sell it? Is the neck thin enough to where the edges are sharp? I don't like that.
Jeffplaysbass made me an offer I couldn't refuse! Also at the same time I was getting the fever to try a USA SPECTOR. Besides...the place ya can go after an Ian Hill is to a USA NS-2! :smug::bassist:

I think he sold it to buy a forte :bassist:
Yes I did! :D

Ahh.... he's on the road to usa Spector ville. That's as bad or worse than the road to your first Spector. Can't blame him there.

I need an endorsement deal! lol
I'll soon find out how bad the GAS will be...if Chris is any indicator, or JPS, or seventhframe...I'll be in trouble! :help:
I'll need an endorsement!

John, John, John...:nono: 1 WEEK!!!!!:D :hyper: I'm not really bragging or rubbing it in mind you :smug: I'm just juiced, psyched, like waiting for Christmas...but better! :bassist:

I really want to install the EMG 40DC pickups I got, but they have seven prongs on the Quick Connect, where the preamp has five. Actually, it might be three and five. I don't remember off the top of my head.

Is there a way around this? Can I solder anything instead of using the Quick Connect system?

what preamp do you have?

The DC's should have 3 prongs (white / blk/ red) White is signal hot, blk is actually the braid around the white wire, and read is 9v power.

What ya got going on?

It was custom ordered by a company from New York, took 6months.

OK now I'm really torn...........They have a blem Forte, a trans blk gloss euro and I can order a Ian hill if I want one ( all 4 string p/j config) . All about the same price.

The Forte is cool , but I'm not big on the flat finish, I like the protection from the thicker gloss, and no Crowns which to me scream SPECTOR.

The trans blk euro is sweet ( flame) but has black hardware which I want gold ( I have all new gold hardware at home except for new Schallers, mine are older). A trans blk and solid blk Spector have been my dream bass for ever ( since before you could get trans blk)

The Ian hill is sweet has the black n gold, and I will wait for it (order through Bass Central). Damn this sucks......... Might have to take a trip and see if either of the ones in stock have the Magic......

Haha, nah, I'm good man....I've psyched myself up that it's coming for Christmas, and doubtfully sooner...now...if we go into January and still no sign of it, I might get a little restless! Congrats though on the Forte...that is going to be a sweet bass!
