Spector Club - Part 16

I'll crack 'er open again and have a look.

It's not a bad sounding bass by any means, I'm just curious to see what the big deal about the DCs are. I think it was JPS that told me they would definitely sound better, but a lot of people don't notice the difference. Curious to see how a BQC system would sound in it as well.

Okay, found the two dip switches. What sort of change would I notice from these? Would either give it a little more growl or some mids?

Cool...
I have the bts in my NS-2J and the bqc in my Ian Hill...
Lemme know what you hear after fiddling with yours.

Below is the diagram of which frequencies are controlled by the switches control on the BT circuit.

I have my NS-2JAR set to 1 On, 2 Off and my NS-2A set to 1 Off , 2 On.

OK now I'm really torn...........They have a blem Forte, a trans blk gloss euro and I can order a Ian hill if I want one ( all 4 string p/j config) . All about the same price.

The Forte is cool , but I'm not big on the flat finish, I like the protection from the thicker gloss, and no Crowns which to me scream SPECTOR.

The trans blk euro is sweet ( flame) but has black hardware which I want gold ( I have all new gold hardware at home except for new Schallers, mine are older). A trans blk and solid blk Spector have been my dream bass for ever ( since before you could get trans blk)

The Ian hill is sweet has the black n gold, and I will wait for it (order through Bass Central). Damn this sucks......... Might have to take a trip and see if either of the ones in stock have the Magic......

Haha, nah, I'm good man....I've psyched myself up that it's coming for Christmas, and doubtfully sooner...now...if we go into January and still no sign of it, I might get a little restless! Congrats though on the Forte...that is going to be a sweet bass!

That's cool! That's not too far away and what could be a better Christmas gift??? Thanks John!! I can't wait to play her and record some tracks! :bassist:

Hey can I get a number? I don't have any pics yet but! I don have some videos! Check this one out Duality -Intervals bass cover - YouTube

Spectors have godly tone muhahaha

Man, I can't believe I didn't notice this until now. Aaron once asked me to learn this song and come over. I was going to do a video cover then go record and play shows with him. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to do a video and couldn't get to Toronto.

I've wanted to move there a few times and that would have been a damn good reason to move there. Aaron is talented as hell.

Wow. That's awesome. I don't suppose you'd know what would give the most growl? I think I read 2.1 khz would give me the sound I'm looking for.

Ok not much of a J player but the NS-4 with aggie jazz pups looks cool!

I actually like it a lot. It's got the comfort and feel of the USA NS-Bolts but those Aguilar pups are passive or active. So you can go completely passive on the tone circuit (or bypass it is a better description) and it has that old 1970's J sound... sort of noisy and gritty.

I love this bass actually. It's a Coda-4 in an NS-Body. :ninja:

Ooohh, I like the sound of that. Ever since I played Limaguy's NS-2JA-R, I have wanted a Spector with J pickups.

By the Way, that Spector logo with the blood is my new background on my Macbook. I hope you don't mind :)

Not at all. Email me and I'll send you a high resolution version.
Is your screen 1920x1080 or another size?
Give me the size and I'll send you a high-rez background made to fit it.

:-)

And I've gotten some T-Shirt requests with this logo.
