I asked because someone had been asking about getting an NS-95, and someone else told them to hold out for a different spector with a curved back
The NS-95 has plenty curve and very comfortable. An awesome sounding bass too!

GAS ing over mine. It should ship Monday and hopefully I should have it a day or 2 later (UPS please be nice with my baby! The less time in shipping the better). Jeff's an awesome guy to deal with as well. Definitly a class act.
That is fantastic Grendle! Jeff is a class act! I sold him my Ian Hill.

Man! That's some gorgeous SPECTORS! The NS4CR would be my favorite out of that trio! Wow! Is that delicious!!!!

guy,

You win the award for the cleanest and in best shape used Spectors. :bassist:

The Rebop was new but it was still "old stock" correct.

Also,
Which camera do you have? Your photos always look great. Is that a pro camera or a really good consumer camera?

Thanks. I love finding good quality used gear. I swear, that NS2A must have been under someones bed for may years. It's in great shape.

The Rebop was "new", but it is an 2008. Given the price I paid, I'm happy to have a NOS model.

My camera is nothing special. That picture was taken with my Nikon D60 with a Nikkor 18-55 zoom lens.

I am back with a new Sound Comparison.

This time comparing the Forte, Euro4LX, NS-2A and NS-2JA-R
Its a different riff not the same one as before. :bassist:

click this link for the survey, the link to the sound clips are on the survey page. (I used sound cloud so you can easily move between clips.)

Note: The order of the bass photos is not the order of the clips. :D ;)

I was planning on filming the opening of the box but since I went out early and found the UPS guy I didnt have anything ready. (I really didnt expect to find him)

It will be worth the wait, and this gives you some time to tape all the windows up in your house. :bassist:

Took it. They all sound great! Nice to hear them all side by side. There are some subtle differences there with the pre, the attack, and the mids to my ears. Not a bad one in the bunch though.

I took the survey and I'm extremely interested in the results. It's really hard to differentiate one Spector from another for me sometimes. I just enjoy listening to them. 3/4 had the same pickup configuration so I'm guessing the only real differences between them were the preamps, the build quality/woods used, and possibly the strings. Honestly, I'd play any of them... ;)

Yeah me too! I real curious which was wich. Don't keep us in suspense too long , or pm me . I won't tell. Just curious if I got em right. Gotta post em with no survey so we can go back and listen to em.

Nice to hear the notes ring out , with a little peddle, and some fretwork. Got to hear them all doing real situations imo. Great job!

I agree, they all sound great with slight variations. However, some samples sit louder in the mix than others. That could skew the results a bit.

Thanks Lima, this is fun. and educational.

Holy Crap! That tone....I want it...

On a side note, I come to you Spector Elders with yet another question:
I've been playing my new Euro a lot lately. I stopped for a second to play my Rebop and I noticed a huge and unsettling difference in the sound. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but the Rebop sounds dryer, not as aggressive, weaker output, and just...not as awesome as the Euro at this point. I'm thinking it could be one or a combination of these things:
-Dead strings
-The passive pickups (has the EMG HZ's)
-The Pre (has the EMG BQC rather than the TonePump)
-Higher action

So I was thinking of either changing out the HZ's with DC's or changing out the BQC with a TonePump...or changing strings and adjusting the action....or maybe all of em. I'm going for that tone that bassgiant has. Any advice?

Hmmmm. How old is your Rebop? Well, I guess it doesn't matter. I have an older Rebop with the TonePump, without the trim pot. It is a beast. Aggressive. And I use HZs. The EMG pre in my NS-2JA-R sounds very different. Could be a combination of things. One way would be to put the same brand/gauge of strings, same setup - make sure the PUPs are the same distance away from the strings.

Good luck!
