Thank you guys for all the good thoughts.
I played it yesterday at practice and i'm so happy with it.Very nice sound and a very nice piece of work.
I'm really excited about my new baby.Never in my mind i thought i would own a U.S. made.
However i still love my Euro5

hey guys, how can i tell if the intonation of my bass is alright? the action seems to be a bit high and I though it could be that the neck is bowed, because it came all the way from the US. I just wanna take good care :)

If you need to adjust the neck, do that BEFORE setting the intonation. Adjust the truss rod and saddles to where the bass plays the way you want it to. Then, do intonation.

You will have to loosen the set screw at the bottom of the bridge to adjust the intonation. After that, plug your bass into a good tuner. Tune your bass. Then, check the tuning one string at a time at the 12th fret. If the string is in tune at the 12th fret, then your intonation is fine. If the note is flat at the 12th fret but the open string is in tune, move the saddle towards the neck a little. If the note is sharp at the 12th fret but the open string is in tune, move the saddle away from the neck a little. You might have to loosen the string to move the saddle and retune it afterward. After moving the saddle, check again until the string is in tune at the 12th fret and open. When all the strings are in tune both open and at the 12th fret, your bass is intonated. Tighten the set screw at the bottom of the bridge and it should stay intonated for a very, very long time.

Finally, if you aren't comfortable doing this yourself and don't want to end up frustrated, take it to a pro have them set it up for you. Good luck!

You're 100% correct in everything you said (especially the first part), Double Agent...
but Iv@n's Spector in question is a Performer DLX4, so the set screw & floating saddles are out of the equation! :)

It's v/v. I always prefer a blend but on this, it's real manageable. I spent some more time with it this morning and even with the stock Selects, I was able to find my tone zone pretty quickly. I can only imagine how it's gonna be with the EMGs. Speaking of which, I actually have to wait til Wednesday now for the installation but I'm gonna use it on a gig tonight to fumble through the new tuning live. Should be fun ;)

I finally got the NS2A last night. It's raining out right now so all I have to throw up is this meh indoor pic for now. It definitely needs a little TLC as is. The strings are rusty D'addario steels (ProSteels or Prisms, I suspect) as they have the tell tale colored ball ends. No matter. I've got some .115 sets on the way as I'm tuning it in low C. The nut seems cut kind of low but I see no foul play in the slots, so we'll see after setup. I plugged it in for a sec to check the pre and all functions work. I haven't bothered exploring the tone with the strings being as they are plus a set of EMGs are going in this weekend. I can't wait to hear them with the knockoff Haz pre. I'm really impressed with the construction. Classic NS minus the inlays and the neck feels great. I'll get better pics up sometime next week after the surgery and setup. It's just a few steps away from Metal bliss as of right now. Can I get a #?

It came with Spector p/ups and i changed the to EMG's and what a difference....you'll be happy with the change.

Oh, I have :D I was droolling on those pics while I was waiting for mine to arrive. I went through both of the club threads while I was researching my next (now present) bass and they've incredibly helpful. I'm 101% confident I chose the right bass after playing it. I can't keep my hands off of it but yeah, I gotta wait a few more days for the EMGs :crying:
