Just out of curiosity, anyone try an Audere classic 4band, in their Spector?

I'm thinking about taking out my BQC and putting one in.

Sometimes as a special request you can ask that Stuart write your name. He doesn't like to do it, because if you sell your bass, etc... it can cause issues. But he has been known to do this from time-to-time.

I know I made need to file the nut.

you'll need to intonate the bridge as you would when you change string gauges.

and the nut will need to be re-done

You really dont need to get DDTs... I mean any 5 string set will do.

I stringed my EURO LX4 BEAD. I replaced the nut with a new one with wider slots and one more thing is that the slots on the bridge back end have to be filed for thicker strings unless you use taper-wound strings. Spector stainless steel 5-string set is taper-wound and I use this set without probs. My bass is 35" but 34" should be fine too.

I don't recommend DDT's b/c 1. they aren't a great string IMO and 2. for 34" scale, the B string where it tapers by the nut isn't tapered long enough from the tuning peg to the nut and mine snapped before I even got it tuned to B. So I had to use my original .130 DR HI Beam that I was replacing w/ the rest of the DDT set...

But if you're just going BEAD you shouldn't need the DDT's. However if you got a 4 string set and wanted to tune down that low, ok maybe. But yeah the DDTs are mmkay for what they are, but for simple BEAD I wouldn't recommend them. I doubt you'd like their tension in standard tuning, anyway. They're meant to be dropped and are already too firm for me as-is.

I've got my NS4CRFM strung BEAD with a set of DR Hi-Beams and didn't need to do anything to the nut or bridge (aside from the intonation). They aren't taperwound either. The E-string is a little tight on the bridge but it's a non-issue. So my advice is to just try it out before you go filing the nut or make some other drastic changes to the bass.

Heres a question that has been on my mind for a while. When not using your bass do I need to turn all volume/tone knobs all the way to off so I don't drain the battery? I'm newer (2 1/2 yrs) to bass playing and I just would like know that I'm not putting a drain on the bat. Thanks!

Not sure who it sold to. I did purchase the ultra amber with the birdseye maple fingerboard. Third from the left.
