Spector Club - Part 8

I found a few nice Spectors Im interested in. Both are at guitar stores (neither one is GC) but they are far away so I cant try either out,

First is a rebop 4 string. Its $450 plus shipping with a spector gig bag.

Second is a NS2A, real nice shape, non original hard shell case. $600 plus shipping.

That's not a bad price on a Rebop depending on what shape it's in. The NS2A seems a bit high to me but I don't have much experience with those.

If I had known about "The Green".....:atoz:

Back when Mars Music finally closed up shop here,
they let a new Euro4 & Euro5 walk out for $600 & $700.
They were the last two Spectors and nobody wanted them because they were.......Green.

Damn that's awesome. I've always wanted a green one and seems like everytime one comes up I'm broke.

After looking at a few Spector pics on Brooklyn Gig Center...

With what kind of Strings are the USA Boltons shipped with?
On the pics it looks like tapered strings, which would mean it's the stainless steel strings... I prefer the nickels though...

First shots thanks to JPSBassist!

My new EUROLX4 35" scale SILVERBURST!

It was suppose to have black hardware so the hardware is on its way... but I must say the gold does stand out nicely... I'll decided when the black comes in which one looks better.

plays like a dream too.

What's going on with Spector production?

I ordered a bag about a week before christmas. They were expected in at every site i looked on January 4th. Then the 24th. Now the 28th. I'm still waiting on stuff backordered a month and a half ago.

Nice! Looks kinda like the one on Cooke's site. FWIW, the gold hardware looks nice with the finish.

Having owned several NS2A's, I'd make sure to try it out before buying. Some can be great, others not so much. I've never had a rebop, but the several I've tried and played have been very consistent.

Both are good prices...I'd go with the NS-2A w/hardshell case. Speaking from experience having both bass'. :D

SWEET BASS diechris!!! :D

Me and Mr.Cooke are the only two with the silverburst finish. He has a NS-2.

That NS-2 is actually the picture PJ sent to the guys as an example for what I wanted.

The gold kinda pops doesnt it?

Wow, Mr. Cooke. You guys are making me feel old!!;)

Love the silverburst! Can't wait to see it with the black hardware. As you know mine has chrome. Love seeing all the options.

Sorry I missed meeting you at NAMM. You should have come on over and introduced yourself.

Silverburst is so ftw. Glad to know that since 'Wick' won't do it, the real NS-2 shape can still be done in that color!! :o :D :D

I like the gold alright, but with the black on that, it's going to look sick. Excellent choice mang. :bassist:

O, and as usual, had gig last night, played Brownie through teh Mesa rig, epic toanez were had, and every bass player in the before and after bands came up and were asking about her and the rig. :D Not surprising. I can't WAIT to get my RXT in.

hahah sorry Todd. I type "MR" when I get lazy and I dont like doing the high school coach thing and just call people by their last names.

Patrick pointed you out at the booth but you were talkin business with PJ and I had to meet up with someone so it was a bunch of bad timing going on.

I'll definitely stick around long enough next time.

I'm thinking the black will look better also...
and I'm a gold hardware lover.

Any idea how many or the availability of Chrome Spector bridges? Until the bass below flew by on eBay a couple of weeks ago (SSD NS2), I'm not sure I'd ever seen a Chrome Spector (USA or Czech) bridge.
