Awesome! What EMG's are in that?
I'm pretty sure DC-40's. I haven't been told it's different in any way than stock.

Only one way to find out and it woudln't take too much effort...![]()
LOL that's true. I can do that this weekend after we have our gig tonight.
I think my incoming Spector RXT has 35DC's, tho.
After going back to school after being laid off twice in 7 months, I graduate on Monday. And next week I have a couple interviews for full-time positions which pay a LOT more than I've ever made thus far. And I'm feeling very confident about at least one of them...
So what I'm getting at is that the Spector collection should be able to grow a bit in the next few months.![]()
As in this Brownie?

Yeah.
Always a conversation starter LOL once people find out what it is; they normally just think it's a kickass US-made NS-5 but my band usually blabbers on about it.

SWEET!!!![]()
Yes. It's on its way back to NY to get a new clear-coat cover over Rex's signature on the back. The RXT is still in-transit.
No-one was allowed to play the RXT at NAMM and since having it at my studio I never handled it except to get photos. I didn't want to mess up Rex's signature. But from everything I can tell, yes... it is set up exactly like an NS-4... EXCEPT... it has the USA 9v tone circuit as opposed to the 18v. So actually I think the sound from it should be quite unique.I've got the 5'er bit covered, the NS-4 sound/style w/ the RXT...
Funny, great minds think alike. This is my next order. I'll probably put it in next week. A USA NS-2 with black trans-gloss tube quilt and birdseye maple fingerboard. I hope to have it delivered to me in July. Evan Seinfeld of Biohazzard ordered the exact same bass (but with the usual Pau Ferro fingerboard) and it was at NAMM for him to pick up. It was never displayed. And I got to see it. MAN! It was beautiful. A really nice combo that black-on-black gloss stain with the tube quilt.Maybe something in trans-black with that tubed-maple top and a maple fretboard.

Wow. That bass looks REALLY nice!!!So I gave the "doing justice" thing a shot.

I hear ya dude, trust me!
I'm trying to not buy anything more this year (Brownie was just 5 mo's ago and the RXT is still in-transit) b/c I'm looking to get a house next year but it's SOOO tough not jumping on some of these basses that come up F/S here!
I probably will look to get an NS-2 again for my next purchase tho. I've got the 5'er bit covered, the NS-4 sound/style w/ the RXT, so the classic Spector shape, sound, etc. will more than likely be it.

I'm about 96% sure that's the same bass used on the opening song.
I always wondered what Rex's obsession was with that shape. Is he secretly an old G&L ASAT guy or what? LOL Oh well...
After seeing that silverburst, I think I might have to put up the dough for a 5 string with the EMG 40P/40J pickups and BTS preamp.

Man... that Rex looks nicer everyday... The first time I saw it I was like.. naw no thanks. But its growing on my somehow. The shot with the flash on the body (looking up the neck) makes it look like it has a white fretboard... which might look cool?
Make sure you credit me with the idea before it blows up
BUT the reason for my post, Im looking for a white NS 2JA-R. Im keeping my eyes open on the craigslist and what not, but if you guys could tip me off if you see one that would be awesome and much appreciated(idealy for under 1000$, but I know thats asking a lot).
All in all with shipping and whatnot id like to keep the cost under $1200. Im selling my Gibson Grabber for it. Which is kinda tough to let go... but it just doesnt FEEL good in my hands/on my body.
Thanks folksies!
I ended up selling it locally but at this point REALLY wish I hadn't. That was an excellent bass.
