As to my bass:
The originally quoted 8 weeks are over next week, but with NAMM occurring I think I'll have to add a few weeks to the wait...

Hey man, welcome. No fear on on only owning some Korean models, until November 2010 that was all I owned!

I started with a P bass, but hated the neck, so I looked for something a bit more comfortable and ended up switching to Spector.

I have a Legend Classic 4 (P/J Bubinga top) which is my main 4 string. Then I bought a Legend Custom 5 (Soapbars, amberburst) which unfortunately, they dont make anymore. I recently sold it for an NS 2000/5. And between that transaction got me a Euro 5LX.

Im GASsing hard for a USA bolt on and a white NS 2JA-R (another Korean) as well as the new Legend X.

So dont worry about owning Koreans, we all know what theyre worth and how amazing they are for the price.

Welcome to the club! Although you may never get a number, I dont know who takes care of that. Feel free to post pictures, questions or comments. Theres always at least one person in here wholl have the right answer (aka JPS or Phat).

That contrary to a majority of other bassists owning a couple of different brands and never really being completely satisfied with any of them. Seems like something's always missing.

So freaking this. I may over time own another "special" instrument (a Ritter 5 comes to mind!) but would just be for "flavor"; nothing would replace what I get from my Spectors. :bassist::bassist:
I may start a rule or something for every 3 Spectors I own, I'll let myself have ONE Of something else LOL. Sounds about right. ;)

TOO funny you and I both had dreamt up that exact same bass LOL. Maybe by the time you get yours in I'll be ready to put in my order... :o :D

Actually, Evan Seinfeld of Biohazzard (a SPECTOR Artist) dreamed it up first.

Stuart built one for him and it was in the booth at NAMM (in a case and not on display). Evan had a schedule issue last minute (he was touring in Europe) and couldn't make it to pick it up and as we were packing the basses up trying to decided which ones came back to my studio for photos I came across the case and was like, "what's in here?"

I opened the case and was speechless. PJ came over and said it was Evan's new bass and added, "Isn't that awesome looking?"

It's been in my head every since. The only thing is that Evan's bass has the Pau Ferro fingerboard. But it didn't take a lot of thinking to make the leap over to the BEM, especially since I did bring Todd Cooke's new NS-2 Tube Quilt BEM back to my studio for photos (the ultra-amber one).

Anyway... I knew I wanted to order an NS-2 this year. I talked with PJ yesterday and we sort of hammered out the guitar's specs and that was all she wrote.

The shop is closed due to a blizzard so it'll be later in the week or possibly next week before we might figure out a delivery date.

It's all good. I never want Stuart to rush on these things. I don't mind waiting.

Actually the weather has been a major factor lately. The workshop was closed yesterday and today due to a snow-in. So that puts them behind plus UPS can't make deliveries or pick things up. So it's a rough call but safety demands that everyone stay off the roads.

I also think there was some power issues (like the power going out) last week because of bad weather.

So your guitar might be delayed another week or two. But it'll be worth the wait. I waited 6 months for my NS-4 and honestly, it's one of the most flawless USA Spectors I've ever seen. Everything on it is perfect... no finish flaws (which even with the best hand-done finishes you often can find a bubble or something).

You can't... or I should say you shouldn't try to rush perfection. There was a time when you might have to wait a full year for a new USA Spector. Thank goodness those times are long-gone. :-)

What's a rough estimate from the time I would put an order in to the time it is in my hands? Just curious...I'm highly interested in that silverburst.

I don't have any idea. That's not anything I have knowledge about. I just know about the weather because I'd shipped the NAMM basses back and there is a potential delay in delivery due to the weather.

I'd contact your dealer and ask them if they can check for you.

Most are of superior quality and sound compared to many in similar price ranges. But the Euros and the US basses are just outstanding all around pieces of art. You'll find that most of us have numerous Spectors and it sounds like you've got your own collection started. I have played for 25+ years and have had up to as many as 10+ basses in my stable at any one time. I have always had mostly US and Japanese Fender P's and J's, American Peavey's, and then some random pieces to try and flip. gig basses have almost exclusively been US and Japanese P basses. I got a NS2000/4 in a swap / flip deal and could not believe it was a Korean made import bass. It sounded great, played like butter, and was really comfortable on the body. I took it as a backup to a gig, pulled it out in the 3rd set and was told by my band mates not to put it down the rest of the night. It became my number one (strung with TI jazz flats) and I bought a NS94/4 as a backup. These two neck thrus are unbelievable and I am now working on a deal to add a Legend 4 P/J to the arsenal. I just sold my last Japanese Fender, and am now down to my 2 Spectors with the third on the way and huge gas for a Spectorcore fretted.

I know I don't have the high end Euro or US made Spectors so I am not looking 4 membership to any Spector clubs; I can't even imagine how good those things must be, if these little imports play this well. I just wanted to say I'm a big fan and it's gonna be a long time before any other manufacturer gets a bass under my fingers
