Hey RSB , I am in my iPhone and I don't get to copy links from the eBay app to the tb app , if I get out the laptop I'll post a link . It was the Rex that had a silver metallic base , green and orange camo like paint scheme . Very cool , three control knobs , I would have loved to had it !

Glad to know there is a Spector community!

I have been playing on a Spectorcore 4 Fretless for nearly a decade! Out all of my instruments, it is the one I would never sell.

That being said, I have a few questions.

Has anyone been able to replace their rosewood fingerboard with ebony? Is it even doable? Worth it?

I, as many others, have been inspired by solo fretless bassists such as Michael Manring and his use of hipshot x-tenders. Is it possible to get x-tenders for Spectors? If so, which ones are applicable?

Thanks for any information and I apologize if this has been brought up before-search engines on forums never find what I'm looking for and there are entirely too many posts from part 1-9!

As far as market value,
I got my Euro4 used for $1100 shipped.
There are a couple of others (including NB0064 on this site) available around the net for about a $1000. I saw one recently as low as $700.
Euro4's, not LX's or NSCRFM's.
Your mileage may vary.

Welcome to the community. You'll find it is very active and full of great resources.

Quick answers first. The Hipshot models will work fine. They are options on most new SPECTORs now.

As far as your fingerboard... Why would you want ebony? Just a question... but is it the tonal differences you are interested in?

You would probably have to find a luthier to do the work for you. You could contact PJ Rubal and see if you could order a neck for your SPECTORCore, special order. Since you have a bolt-on. But it probably would be costly since it would be a special manufacturing situation.

Also, Ebony is a little more maintenance. It can dry out and get brittle faster/easier than Rosewood.

If you are looking to change the tonality of your neck, there might be other options. If you are looking for brighter you can get a luthier to put an epoxy coat on the fingerboard. I did that with my fretless NS-2A and I love how it sounds.
